🚑 NOW HIRING: Intermittent Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) 🚑
Fort Mojave Mesa Fire Department is seeking dedicated, reliable, and compassionate Intermittent Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to join our medical transportation team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing safe, high-quality basic life support (BLS) care and transportation for patients during interfacility transfers, non-emergency medical transports, and discharges. This is an on-call position with flexible hours and competitive hourly pay.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
✅ Patient Care: Provide high-quality Basic Life Support (BLS) care and continuous patient assessment during transit in accordance with state protocols and company policies.
✅ Medical Transport: Safely operate emergency vehicles to transport patients between hospitals, nursing facilities, rehabilitation centers, and private residences.
✅ Communication: Maintain clear, professional radio and phone communication with dispatchers, medical facilities, and receiving staff to ensure seamless patient handoffs.
✅ Documentation: Complete accurate, timely, and detailed Patient Care Reports (PCRs) and billing documentation for every transport.
✅ Vehicle Maintenance: Inspect, restock, clean, and decontaminate the ambulance and medical equipment at the start and end of each shift to ensure constant readiness.
Minimum Qualifications & Requirements
✔ Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.
✔ Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent.
✔ Certification: Current, valid Arizona State EMT-Basic certification and/or National Registry EMT (NREMT) certification.
✔ CPR Certification: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers card.
✔ Driver's License: Valid Arizona state driver’s license with a satisfactory motor vehicle driving record (MVR).
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull heavy loads (frequently up to 125 lbs. unassisted, and 300+ lbs. with a partner on a wheeled gurney).
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb stairs smoothly while carrying medical equipment or assisting patients.
• Correctable vision and hearing adequate for safe emergency vehicle operation and patient clinical assessment.
