The Fort Morgan Police Department strongly believes in keeping members of our community informed of important issues to the public. In maintaining full transparency and to educate our community members, we will post a police blotter on this page. The police blotter is not inclusive of all contacts or calls that are received by the police department and do not represent most traffic contacts, calls that do not involve police reports, or many other types of calls (all available through criminal justice records requests). The information contained within the blotter are calls that we feel may be of importance to our community members to better understand the issues facing our citizens and what the Fort Morgan Police Department is doing daily.

On December 16, 2021 at approximately 1158 hours, the Fort Morgan Police Department was contacted for a report of a possible child enticement that occurred in front of Safeway at 620 West Platte Avenue. The reporting party stated his juvenile daughter was exiting the front of the store when a gold or beige Chrysler Pacifica pulled up to her and a male party rolled down his window and told her to get in his car. This juvenile immediately ran back into the store and the vehicle drove away. The male party was described with long black hair and a bandana, approximately in his 30s.

The Chrysler Pacifica was located by Fort Morgan officers on the date of this incident parked in front of a residence in town, however, we need help in identifying the driver. The investigating officer requested the surveillance camera footage from Safeway through their corporate offices. A hard copy of the footage was received, including a still image of the car and the driver. The Fort Morgan Police Department is asking the public for help in identifying the male party in the picture in order to further investigate this incident.

Today, Blue Santa made deliveries to all the good boys and girls in Fort Morgan. Thanks to an outpouring of support from the community, the Fort Morgan Police Department was able to work with Santa to provide toiletries and a generous gift card for the purchase of groceries. This year we were able to help 64 households enjoy the holidays a little more.

Thank you to everyone who has donated to this great program and to everyone who donated their time to make it possible! We have a great, caring community and many people, that are often forgotten during the holiday season, were able to benefit from the community's generosity. We hope everyone enjoys the holiday season and is able to spend quality time with family and friends!

We would like to thank all the individuals and companies that took the time to help us celebrate the holiday season by providing the food and treats. Thank you to the Morgan County Communication Center for the treat bags, the Fort Morgan Does #236 for the cookies, The Slick Spot for the cookies, Western Star for the sandwiches and fruit basket, and for our Secret Santa that provided the tin of popcorn. These items were very much appreciated and delicious.

The Fort Morgan Police Department is aware of a vague threat circulating on Tik Tok, nationwide about potential violence in schools across the United States tomorrow, December 17th. While this threat did not originate locally, we have received several calls from concerned citizens who have heard of these threats.

We would like the public to know that we take every threat seriously and do not believe that violence should ever be used as a joke. While there is no evidence of this threat being credible, we will continue to look into any vague threat made and will work hard to ensure that our schools and children are safe while in attendance. We encourage parents to speak with their children and encourage them to tell an adult if they hear any such threats. Furthermore, students at the middle school or high school can tell the School Resource Officer or contact Safe2Tell (https://safe2tell.org or 1-877-542-7233). Of course, 911 should always be used in an active emergency.

Fort Morgan Police Department will continue to work with the Morgan County School District RE3, students, staff, and families to create an environment for students that is conducive to quality learning. We are committed to the safety of our children and will have officers in the area of schools as much as possible throughout the day tomorrow.

This morning, by chance, I met and visited with Officer Jared Larson. I have to say that Officer Larson was very kind and it was a pleasant experience (no, I wasn't stopped for anything...he was doing traffic control from our church parking lot). If Officer Larson is an accurate representation of the FMPD (and I am absolutely sure that he is), then we have very much to be proud of with our LEO's.
Does your department have any information on the case of voter intimidation going on at Mr. Pagels mobile home community? What if anything is being done?
God Bless!!!
Just saw this act of kindness by one of our finest, a young Fort Morgan Police Officer, who stopped as he was driving by to help Mr. Ed Cornwell dump a load of grass from his mower into his pickup. Mr. Cornwell said it made his day and so nice to see there are still kind people in this world. Kudos to this officer and all our men in blue. Definitely more good than bad out there. So glad I stepped outside at just the right moment to catch this.πŸ’™πŸ’™πŸ’™
I visited Fort Morgan last weekend and was glad to see that your local Walmart has big signs telling customers that they must wear masks --- they even have masked greeters -- but I also saw approximately 20% of the customers entering the store without masks -- since I understand that Walmart employees will not enforce masking I am wondering why the FMPD has not done more to encourage these customers to wear masks. Thank you, Margaret Mumford
Please help us raise awareness for Mental Health and Su***de Prevention. This video shows a glimpse into my life and why this cause is so important to meοΏΌοΏΌ. This year we are a FREE all ages event. Let’s bring Morgan County together to support each other during these very difficult times. I believe that raising awareness is very important, even more so now.οΏΌ Please share this video, thank you all so much.
Hey yall miss you guys. Sending Love
Yesterday evening I was chasing a storm that passed through the area and I was following one of your officers down US-34 when this happened. I just thought you might be interested in seeing it. This is a series of 3 video stills I captured around 5:30pm on 8-5-2020 right at mile marker 176, the plates on your officers vehicle was W##311 with a cruiser number of 5515. I appreciate everything you guys do and stay safe!

To the officer that bought my mother’s breakfast this morning at Arby’s. Your random act of kindness means so much, you have not idea of the hearts that you touch every day. Thank you so much for all that you do for us and others, you will forever be in our hearts and minds. Stay safe out there from the Pribble family.
Thanks for donating today Mary & Stephanie Peterson Harman! It's great to see our local folks supporting our great community for this life saving cause!!
