🔥🚒🚑🚔🔥
What an awesome day of training at Station 2! Our firefighters had the opportunity to take part in a hands-on vehicle extrication training that was put on by the Morgan Community College EMT class, and it was an outstanding experience from start to finish.

Training like this is absolutely vital to making sure our firefighters and first responders are ready when real emergencies happen and every second counts. From tool work to patient access and scene coordination, this was a great chance to sharpen our skills and strengthen teamwork.

A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made this training such a success! The EMT students, Dr. Fargus, nursing students, radiology students, Morgan County Ambulance Service (MCAS), and Log Lane Village PD. It was great working side by side with so many dedicated future and current professionals.
Strong partnerships and realistic training make our community safer, and we’re proud to continue learning and growing together. Great work by everyone involved!💪

🚨 Red Flag Fire Warning – Morgan County 🚨
Due to today’s expected high winds and dry conditions, a Red Flag Fire Warning has been issued for our area.
We strongly advise NO outdoor burning of any kind. Even small fires can quickly get out of control under these conditions and pose a serious risk to life and property.
Please remember: • Avoid burning trash, brush, or debris.
• Secure trailer chains to prevent sparks
• Be cautious with equipment that may create heat or sparks

As a reminder all fire agencies throughout Morgan County will be on alert and will respond to Grass Fires as one Mutal Response! Let’s work together to prevent unnecessary emergencies and keep our community safe.
Thank you for doing your part. Stay safe.

You can always call into the Morgan County Burn Line to check updates for fire condition updates at 970-542-3452 🔥🚒

Critical fire conditions are expected from mid morning through early Friday evening across the plains and Palmer Divide due to gusty northwest winds and low relative humidity.

03/22/2026

Important Notification for Morgan County Residents: Due to heightened fire danger, as indicated by the numerous large grass fires, all Morgan county fire departments have agreed to provide a unified response to any reported grass fire. In the event that a controlled burn is not reported and a fire is reported to 911, all four county fire departments will be dispatched to the location. It is vital that individuals conducting controlled burns notify the Morgan county communications center at 970-867-5678.

Last night’s Annual Fire Banquet was a great reminder of the incredible people who stand behind and support our department.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to attend and celebrate with us — our honorary members and guests, retired firefighters, and the members of the Rural/ City Board. Your continued support, leadership, and dedication to this department and our community means more than words can say. The foundation you’ve helped build is what allows us to continue serving with pride.

We would also like to congratulate the firefighters who received awards this year. Your commitment, sacrifice, and willingness to answer the call at any hour does not go unnoticed. The work you do for this department and for the community reflects the true spirit of the fire service.

Thank you again to everyone who joined us and helped make the evening such a success. We’re proud to serve this community alongside such a strong group of people.

🚨 Community Notice – Hay Fire West of County Road 23 🚨
We want to make the community aware of a hay fire located west of County Road 23, approximately ½ mile around the 22000 block.
This fire will be producing smoke for some time. Crews are actively managing the incident, and the burning hay is being spread out across a field as part of suppression efforts. Because of this, it may appear from a distance like a grass fire, but it is contained and being handled.
Please be assured there is no immediate threat to the residents near by at this time. We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as crews continue to work the scene.

Thank you for your continued support 🚒

Morgan County Residents 🔥
Planning a control burn on your property?
Colorado law requires that you notify our local dispatch center before you burn — no matter the weather conditions, even if it’s snowy or raining.
📞 Please call the non-emergency number: (970) 867-2461 prior to starting any controlled burn.
This quick phone call does a few very important things: • Prevents an unnecessary emergency response from your fire department and law enforcement
• Helps dispatch know exactly what’s going on in the area
• Eases concerns from neighbors who may see smoke or flames and worry something is wrong
• Helps you avoid possible fines for failing to properly notify authorities before burning!!
Taking a minute to make this call keeps our responders available for true emergencies and keeps the whole community informed and at ease.
As much as we love serving our community and responding when needed… we’d much rather know ahead of time that your fire is planned and under control 😉
Thank you for doing your part to keep Morgan County safe!
