The Town of Fort Myers Beach is very pleased with the Lee County School Board’s decision regarding the Beach School. We appreciate the collaboration of the School Board throughout this process and the continued support from the community.

The Town looks forward to presenting its proposed plan for operation of the facility as a charter school and continuing discussions regarding the future of educational opportunities on Fort Myers Beach. This milestone reflects the strong commitment of residents, families, and stakeholders who have advocated for the preservation of the Beach School.

We appreciate the community’s confidence and support as we move into the next phase of this process

Happy Mother's Day! My Mom passed in 2011. It was an honor to help care for her when Cancer came, Breast Cancer twice and then Lung Cancer, What a fighter. I was glad that she could accompany Chris & I to Hawaii (Maui & the Big Island). It was on the Big Island she went parasailing for the first time. The smile never left her face. That's how I think of her now, flying with the Angels.

This Girl is on FIRE! This Woman is remarkable. Chris posted this recently.

My trip back to Principal HQ last week coincided with a recognition event for the company's top 40 volunteers.
I am privileged to be part of that esteemed group, along with my teammate Renee Leonard Obergfell.
So far this year I've logged 115 hours - cleaning up a 1.5 mile stretch of Fort Myers Beach nearly daily, chairing our Town's Anchorage Advisory Committee (and helping to plan and run Cruiser Appreciation Day 2026), and serving on the Board of Directors for the Fort Myers Beach Library District (and volunteering to staff two days of our annual book sale).
Those efforts provided me with the max amount of $1,000 to contribute to causes on FMB and in Iowa.
Thank you, Principal, for providing such a robust program allowing employees and retirees to contribute our time, talents and contributions from the company to causes we care about.
