Key initiatives and policies include:

Pandemic and Economic Relief: Democrats championed the American Rescue Plan and negotiated the CARES Act, delivering hundreds of billions to small businesses through the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), the Restaurant Revitalization Fund, and the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant to prevent business closures.

Access to Capital: They extended and expanded the State Small Business Credit Initiative, which provides billions in funding for community lenders to offer loans to underserved entrepreneurs, particularly women and minority-owned businesses.

Supporting our troops and veterans means honoring their service with action, not just words.

Recent Democratic-led accomplishments for service members, military families, and veterans include:

🇺🇸 The PACT Act: the largest expansion of VA health care and benefits in generations, providing care and disability benefits for veterans exposed to burn pits, Agent Orange, and other toxic substances. Millions of veterans became eligible for expanded health care and benefits as a result.

🇺🇸 Helping Military Families Make Ends Meet: Congress increased eligibility for the Basic Needs Allowance, providing additional financial support to lower-income military families and helping combat food insecurity.

🇺🇸 Expanded Health Care Access: Recent policies expanded access to reproductive health care, eliminated certain TRICARE contraceptive copays, and increased fertility treatment options for service members and military families.

🇺🇸 Mental Health Support for Veterans: The Veterans COMPACT Act guarantees eligible veterans in suicidal crisis can receive emergency care at VA or non-VA facilities, with costs covered by the VA regardless of enrollment status.

🇺🇸 Advancing Equality in Service: Democratic administrations worked to end the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, allowing gay and le***an Americans to serve openly in the military.

And historically, Democratic leadership played a central role in establishing NATO, one of the most successful military alliances in modern history, strengthening America’s security and partnerships around the world.

Supporting veterans doesn’t end when they take off the uniform. It means ensuring they have access to health care, mental health services, economic opportunity, and the benefits they’ve earned through their service.

📬 Vote-by-Mail Ballots
• July 4 — Ballots mailed to military & overseas voters
• July 9–16 — Ballots mailed to domestic voters

⚠️ If your ballot hasn’t arrived within 7 days of mailing, call the Lee County Supervisor of Elections at 239-533-8683 to request a duplicate ballot.

📝 July 20 — Voter Registration Deadline
New voter registrations must be RECEIVED by the Supervisor of Elections office by 5PM.
Mailed applications must have a legible postmark dated BEFORE July 20.

📨 August 6 — Deadline to Request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot
Requests must be RECEIVED by the SOE office by 5PM.
(Postmarks do NOT count.)

🗳️ Early Voting: August 8–15
Early voting is quick, convenient, and usually has very short lines.

📦 Secure ballot drop boxes will be available at all early voting locations.

⚠️ Some early voting sites may change this year. Stay alert for updated announcements.

📍 Election Day — August 18
• In-person voters must be IN LINE by 7PM
• Vote-by-mail ballots must be RECEIVED by an SOE office by 7PM
