Sometimes the most important connection starts with a simple conversation.
CareerSource SWFL staff joined more than 15 employers and community partners at the Florida Department of Corrections Job & Resource Fair in Fort Myers this week.
Our team (Christopher LaVoie and Kristen Clover, Disabled Veterans Outreach Program Specialists; Carmen Henry, Disability Navigator/CDR IV and Rona Scott, Business Services Account Executive) met with more than 136 career seekers looking for employment opportunities, resources, and support. Many were familiar with our name—but didn’t realize just how much we may be able to help - including information about the Federal Bonding Program for second chance individuals.
Our staff also connected with community partners and shared additional resources to assist veterans and others needing assistance beyond employment.
That’s what these events are really about: connecting people with the right resource, the right opportunity and sometimes the right person at exactly the right time.
