SNAP BENEFITS UPDATE — JUNE 2026
Important SNAP changes are now taking effect across the country.
Beginning June 1, many states are implementing expanded work requirements for certain adults receiving SNAP benefits. Some recipients between ages 18–64 who do not qualify for exemptions may now be required to work, participate in job training, volunteer, or complete approved employment activities to maintain eligibility.
Exemptions may still apply for:
✔ Older adults
✔ Individuals with disabilities
✔ Caregivers of young children
✔ Certain students and other qualifying groups
State SNAP programs may also have additional rules, requirements, and benefit changes.
FLORIDA SNAP UPDATE

❌ Soda (including diet and zero-sugar sodas)
❌ Energy drinks
❌ Candy
❌ Certain ultra-processed packaged desserts
SNAP benefits can still be used for:
✔ Fruits and vegetables
✔ Meat, poultry, and fish
✔ Dairy products
✔ Bread, rice, cereal, and pasta
✔ Healthy grocery staples
