Great Florida Fire School The Great Florida Fire School is a cooperative outreach effort between the Florida State Fire College and local emergency service providers and educators.

The program is non profit 501 C(3) and is run by all volunteers. The program is possible due to volunteers, sponsors and student enrollment.

SCPFD is excited to announce the promotion of Glen VanBrunt to Assistant Chief.
VanBrunt has served the San Carlos Park Fire Protection and Rescue Service District since 1988. He is a Certified Firefighter, Arson Investigator, Fire Inspector I, Fire Officer II, Instructor III, Live Fire Instructor, Safety Officer, and Paramedic.
His accomplishments include being awarded the San Carlos Park Fire Firefighter of the Year, the Distinguished Service Award from the State of Florida and the Certificate of Appreciation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States.
Assistant Chief VanBrunt is a member of the State of Florida Task Force Six, Urban Search and Rescue Team as a Rescue Officer and Medical Specialist (FLTF-6), LCFCA Incident Management Team (IMT), Lee County Firefighter Training Co-Op, USAR Resource Officer, Task Force Leader Safety Officer, Task Force Leader, and a graduate of the Emergency Services Leadership Institute under the Florida Fire Chiefs’ Association. Assistant Chief VanBrunt maintains several seats on various committees for the Lee County Fire Chiefs Association and is the Florida Association for Search and Rescue Region 6 Representative.

The viewing will be at 10 am to 11 am and the funeral will follow at 11 am.

He will be laid to rest at Mt peace in Saint Cloud Florida right after the funeral
