The scale house attendants are the first point of contact for customers and drivers arriving at the facility. They record vehicle weights, complete load screenings, monitor safety equipment and help direct traffic flow through the scales. Their work ensures safe, accurate and efficient operations every day. 🚛

We're excited to celebrate the graduation of CJ and Charlie from Project SEARCH, a nationwide transition-to-work program that helps young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder gain valuable workplace experience and career readiness skills.

Through a strong local partnership between Family Initiative, Inc. and Lee County Government, CJ and Charlie completed internships with our Department of Transportation and Human Resources teams, where they built professional skills, gained confidence and explored future career opportunities.

Programs like Project SEARCH demonstrate what's possible when organizations come together to create meaningful pathways to employment and independence. Congratulations to CJ and Charlie on this incredible achievement, and thank you to Family Initiative and our Lee County teams for helping make a difference in the lives of these young adults.

Meet Destiny Lerner, a Communications, Marketing and Social Media Specialist with the Lee County, FL Library, and a creative force behind one of the library system’s most engaging recent campaigns.

Last September, Destiny helped turn a simple goal, encouraging residents to sign up for library cards, into a community-wide movement. She developed a referral-based campaign that invited current library users to spread the word to friends and family, helping expand access to the many free resources our libraries offer.

What truly set this campaign apart was Destiny’s energy and dedication. Her ability to combine creativity with strategic outreach not only elevated the library system’s visibility but also highlighted the value of county services as a whole.
