One important thing to know about the proposed Lee Plan and Land Development Code amendments: They do not change allowable densities or intensities within Lee County.

The proposed updates are focused on improving the organization, clarity and efficiency of the County's planning and development regulations. That includes relocating requirements to more appropriate sections, removing duplicative or outdated provisions, clarifying regulations and consolidating related standards.

The goal is to make the regulations easier to understand and administer while maintaining protections for public health, safety and welfare. For more information visit https://www.leegov.com/dcd .

: A Birthday Party Fit for a Mascot! 🎉⚾

Lee the Gnome stepped out of the garden and into the ballpark to help celebrate Mussel Man’s birthday, and he wasn’t the only mascot in attendance! Local mascots from across Southwest Florida joined in for a fun-filled day of birthday festivities, baseball and plenty of mascot mischief. 🎂

But Lee was there with a purpose, too! The Lee County Natural Resources team set up a table in the breezeway to chat with Fort Myers Mighty Mussels fans about Fertilize Smart and why making smart choices with fertilizer helps protect our local waterways. 💧

This is so much more than a collaboration. 🌹

When Kimmie’s Recovery Zone, Lee County Human & Veteran Services, Hope Clubhouse, and the Lee County Homeless Coalition come together, it represents something bigger than any one organization or service.

It represents community taking care of community.

When recovery support, mental health services, veteran resources, homelessness services, healthcare connections, and compassionate people come together in one place, barriers begin to disappear. People get connected. People feel seen. And most importantly, people are reminded that they are not alone.

None of us can do this work alone—and we were never meant to.

Building a stronger community means bringing our strengths to the same table, sharing resources, opening doors for one another, and meeting people exactly where they are with dignity, compassion, respect, and hope.

Different organizations. Different services. One community. One purpose.

Together, we can reach more people.
Together, we can create stronger pathways to recovery and stability.
Together, we can restore hope.
And together, we can change lives. 🌹
