🎖️ Still Serving: From Duty to Community

Meet Tommy Sandvig, a U.S. Army veteran who continues his commitment to service as a Property Acquisition Agent with Lee County’s Department of County Lands.

Guided by the same values that shaped his military experience, Tommy now plays a key role in supporting projects that help Lee County grow and serve its residents. Through his work, he helps ensure land is acquired thoughtfully and responsibly, contributing to the future of our community.

Tommy believes "service is a privilege in all its forms," and he carries that mindset into his work each day, approaching it with purpose, professionalism and pride.

The photo featured here, taken at an Army Ball in Fort Riley, Kansas, shows that service isn’t just about the mission; it’s also about the people beside you.

Thank you, Tommy, for your continued service to Lee County.

One year ago today, Lee County marked a major milestone with the ribbon cutting of our expanded Lee County Public Safety Center, built to strengthen coordination, communication and response when it matters most.

On blue sky days, the facility brings together Public Safety Administration, Emergency Medical Services and a state-of-the-art Emergency Communications Center, alongside partners from the Sheriff’s Office and Department of Transportation.

When emergencies arise, the building transforms into a fully activated Emergency Operations Center, uniting first responders, community partners and essential agencies under one roof to support our community.

One year later, this investment continues to enhance how we prepare, respond and serve Lee County, today and into the future.

Lee County Utilities has scheduled a brief water outage followed by a Boil Water Notice beginning 9 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, for some neighborhoods and businesses along Corkscrew Road east of Interstate 75, including all of Verdana Village, the Shoppes at Verdana Village and Estero Fire Rescue Station No. 45. 🚱⚠️

The outage is necessary because Lee County Utilities must temporarily interrupt the water flow as part of work to install a 16-inch water valve.

The county appreciates the patience and understanding of affected residents and encourages them to plan ahead for the outage and Boil Water Notice. More information: https://ow.ly/kzil50Z5xZC
