Self-Advocacy/Self-Empowerment – improving the consumer’s ability to represent him/herself with public and/or private entities, the ability to make key decisions involving him/herself, or the ability to organize and manage his/her activities to achieve desired objectives.
2. Independent Living Skills (IL) – deve
lop independent living skills in such areas as personal care, coping, financial management, social skills, and household management. This may include education and training necessary for living in the community and participating in community service.
3. Information and Referral – helping consumer with obtaining and or using information necessary for consumer’s independence and community integration.
4. Peer Support – Counseling, teaching, information sharing and similar kinds of contact provided to consumers by other people with disabilities.
5. Employment Services – To assist individuals with disabilities find appropriate employment and assist with understanding Social Security Benefits while working.
