A little throwback to a special morning on the water — and an even more special story. 🛶

This summer, Veteran and local business owner Matthew Loebs gave back to Home Base by donating kayaks and his time for our Adventure Series. Years ago, Home Base Florida was there for Matt when he needed support. Now, he’s helping create those same moments of connection and healing for other Veterans and Military Families.

Building a Strong Home Base is a live, virtual 10-week parenting course designed for Military Families and caregivers of children ages 0–8. The course offers practical information and strategies to help parents strengthen their bond with their children while navigating the challenges of military life.

Three days. Thousands of Veterans. One important mission. 🇺🇸

Home Base Florida was proud to be part of the 2026 Disabled American Veterans DAV National Convention in Orlando this month, connecting with Veterans, families and advocates from across the country.

For three days, thousands of people stopped by our table to learn more about Home Base and the no-cost programs and services available. These conversations are at the heart of what we do. While we have a strong presence in Florida, our outreach continues to grow across the state—connecting with Veterans where they live, work and gather and making sure they know support is available.

Thank you to the DAV for bringing the Veteran community together and giving us the opportunity to share the Home Base mission with so many people.

And to everyone who stopped by our table—thank you for connecting with us. We look forward to seeing you again as we continue expanding our reach across Florida. ❤️🇺🇸

🎉 Welcome back, Charlotte!

We’re excited to welcome Charlotte Luckey back to Home Base—this time joining the Home Base Florida team as our Communications Specialist!

Charlotte first joined Home Base in Boston in 2014 and went on to build a career in communications, including with Mass General Brigham our founding clinical partner. Now she’s bringing her experience—and her passion for the military community—back to Home Base.

As the spouse of an active-duty Naval Aviator, Charlotte also brings a personal connection to the military community we serve.

We couldn’t be more proud of our Administrative Assistant and longtime Home Base participant Sarah Blanchette. ❤️

At this year’s 17th Annual Run to Home Base in Boston, Sarah took the stage as the keynote testimonial speaker and shared her story of resilience, hope and healing with more than 3,170 participants, sponsors and spectators.

It was an incredible year for the Run, raising more than $4 million - the most in the event’s 17-year history. Among those gathered were 943 Veterans and Military Family members and 40 participants who completed their 17th consecutive Run.

And in a year dedicated to honoring Adaptive Warriors and their Families, Sarah’s story was a powerful reminder of what the Home Base community is all about.

Sarah, thank you for having the courage to share your story and for inspiring thousands with your journey. We are so proud to have you on our team. 🇺🇸❤️

🐬 What a day on the water!

Home Base Florida had an incredible time with 111 Veterans and Military Family members enjoying a beautiful morning on the water, spotting dolphins, making memories, and connecting with others in the Veteran community. 🌊🇺🇸

A huge thank you to Freedom Waters Foundation for making this special experience possible and to Pure Florida and the Double Sunshine for getting us out on the water!

The Home Base Adventure Series is all about creating opportunities for Veterans and their families to connect, have fun, and build community—and this day was a perfect example.

Thank you to everyone who joined us! We loved seeing all the smiles and shared moments. 💙
