If you were hired between July 1 and August 9, check your email this week for instructions on how to access your $300 allocation for school supplies. The Florida Teachers Classroom Supply Assistance Program provides funding to eligible full-time classroom teachers, media specialists, and school counselors.
The $300 is for essential classroom materials and supplies to support student learning. You can shop directly in the online marketplace (Amazon, Office Depot, School Specialty, and more) with items shipped right to your school, or upload receipts for quick direct-deposit reimbursement.
If you were hired before July 1, the $300 became available on August 10. Hired after August 10, your $300 becomes available September 30.

Demonstrating exceptional academic dedication, 525 local high school students have officially earned the internationally recognized Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) Diploma following their 2026 examinations.

To achieve this milestone, students completed a demanding college-level curriculum consisting of Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced Level (A) courses. Requirements include earning at least seven credits across four core disciplines: Mathematics and Science, Languages, Humanities, and the compulsory Global Perspectives course. Students must then pass comprehensive end-of-year assessments to demonstrate mastery and earn credit.

The School District of Lee County informed parents today at Buckingham Exceptional Student Center and Royal Palm Exceptional Center that it is lifting the temporary pause on the consolidation of the two campuses. The School District is officially moving forward with plans to establish a state-of-the-art flagship Exceptional Student Education (ESE) center on the campus of Royal Palm Exceptional Center.

Recognizing the deep investment and past concerns of Buckingham and Royal Palm families, the School District is launching a structured, collaborative transition process to ensure transparency every step of the way. Parents and guardians are invited to engage in a series of meetings and committees, with monthly updates provided to these stakeholders.

The School District of Lee County is proud to congratulate the 165 students who earned their International Baccalaureate Diploma at the end of the 2025-2026 school year. The IB program offers a rigorous curriculum, provides college credit, and offers a 100% Bright Futures Scholarship to students who complete the requirements.

Fort Myers High School awarded 69 IB Diplomas, Cape Coral awarded 50 IB Diplomas, Riverdale awarded 38, and Dunbar awarded 8.
