Hear from Fort Myers Police Department Detective Nold and Fort Myers Fire Department Engineer Turner. Wear teal, bring signs, and help raise awareness for those affected by PTSD.

The City of Fort Myers Solid Waste Division will collect residential and commercial trash and recycling on its regular schedule Friday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.

City Hall and Utility Billing offices will be ๐œ๐ฅ๐จ๐ฌ๐ž๐ in observance of the holiday. Solid Waste Division offices will remain open.

Parks and Recreation facilities will operate during their regularly scheduled hours.

Tonight at City Council, we recognized 20 students participating in the City of Fort Myersโ€™ Step Up to Work program! Through June 11โ€“July 29, 2026, these students are gaining valuable work experience and learning more about serving their community during summer break.

We also heard from Lisa Sbuttoni with the River District Alliance who recognized City Manager, Marty Lawing, for his leadership and support over the last five years.

Thank you to everyone who continues to show up, stay involved, and help make the City a great place to live, work, and visit!

Tonightโ€™s City Council meeting focused on continuing to make the City a safe, livable, and vibrant place to live, work, and visit.

Kevin Anderson, City of Fort Myers Mayor proclaimed June 2026 as PTSD Awareness Month, recognizing the importance of supporting those affected by PTSD, especially our first responders who serve our community every day.

Council also received a presentation of the Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the fiscal year ended September 30, 2025, which resulted in a clean auditโ€”reflecting the Cityโ€™s commitment to strong financial stewardship and accountability.
