Hey there “Uncommon” Friends. Our friends at Gulf Coast Humane Society Spay & Neuter Clinic are in need of towels. If you have towels to donate, please drop off at our Uncommon Friends at the Langford-Kingston Home of Fort Myers next week.  feel free to drop off as many towels as possible, and it is still fine if it is worn and well used and loved, Tuesday through Thursday. We will be there, and if you do not want to come in, feel free to leave them on the front porch and we will get those to Gulf Coast Humane Society.

We are in urgent need of towels and flat sheets!

Our shelter is going through these items faster than we can restock, and they are essential for keeping our animals clean and comfortable while they wait for their next chapter.

If you’re able to help, donations can be dropped off at Gulf Coast Humane Society. Even a few items makes a real difference.

What a GREAT kick off to our “Uncommon Friends Summer Enrichment Camp”.

Each year we invite our friends from Ft myers PAL and Quality Life Center of Southwest Florida, Inc. to join us for our community enrichment camp. This year we have 24 students participating, combined from both organizations.

Week one was FANTASTIC!! We were treated to a very interesting and engaging day at Sam Galloway Ford. The students were shown every aspect of the car dealership and all of the different areas of possible education and employment. Many of the students had hands-on experience in learning basic car maintenance skills.

The Galloway staff was so knowledgeable, passionate and willing to spend quality time with us. Roy Harbin and his team are exceptional. Galloway Ford, as well as the Galloway family, have been great community partners for this program. We are grateful. Oh, and the campers LOVED their pizza, cupcakes and swag bags.

What a great afternoon Executive Director, Marc Collins, had participating in this show yesterday. If you have not seen it, and you want a great laugh, treat yourself to this amazing show at Florida Repertory Theatre….

We honor our friend and Emeritus Board member, Kellie Burns-Garvey in her retirement. Kellie has been a “constant” in the history and success of UFF and the Burroughs Home & Gardens. Kellie has been one of the most trusted voices in Southwest Florida for over 30 years and we are so excited for her and her next chapter.

We would remind and wish Kellie the words of our founder, Jim Newton… “The Best Is Yet To Be…”

Last Saturday was so much fun. Our annual, “ The Adeline Burroughs Mother's Day Tea”, was so delicious and beautiful. We look forward to hosting this event each year. We are so grateful to Garramone Plastic Surgery and Medical Spa for once again sponsoring this special day. The Garramone swag bags for the guests were an unexpected treat
