🇺🇸 Memorial Day 2026 🇺🇸

Today, we pause to honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

As EMS professionals, we understand the true meaning of service. On this Memorial Day, we stand in gratitude not only for our fallen heroes but for the families they left behind and the legacy they carry forward.

While many gather with loved ones today, we remember that freedom is not free—it is paid for by the lives of those who answered the call to serve.

From all of us at DAS, we thank you for your sacrifice. We will never forget.

Please take a moment today to reflect, remember, and honor those who gave everything. ❤️

They meet people on their worst days. They make split second decisions. They carry the weight of lives in their hands every single shift.

Here in DeKalb County, we see that dedication every day.

But behind the seriousness of the job, there is also a team full of personality, laughter, and heart. These photos capture a side you may not always see, and that balance is part of what makes them so strong.

As EMS Week 2026 comes to a close, we are proud to recognize the men and women of DeKalb Ambulance Service and EMS professionals everywhere. This year also marks 40 years of service to DeKalb County, and we look forward to many more.

Thank you for your skill, your compassion, and everything you do for our community today and every day.

It is always encouraging to see local employees and organizations invest in learning CPR, AED use, and first aid. These skills strengthen not only the workplace but the entire community by ensuring more people are prepared to respond when it matters most.

We had the opportunity to spend time in the community today as Robert Edgar and Arwen McGauley instructed an AHA Heartsaver Total course at D&F Equipment Sales here in DeKalb County.

At DeKalb Ambulance Service, we are committed to providing accessible, high-quality education. We offer monthly in-house BLS and Heartsaver Total courses, and we are proud to bring training directly to businesses and organizations across with on-site classes.

We appreciate D&F Equipment for partnering with us and for their commitment to safety and preparedness.

Message us for more information or to schedule a class for your team.

We’re proud to recognize AEMT Robert Edgar for receiving an award from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), an organization known for supporting veterans and local communities.

Robert shows up every day with professionalism, compassion, and a strong commitment to helping others. The care he provides makes a real difference, and we’re glad to see him recognized for it.

This award speaks not only to Robert’s hard work, but also to the important role EMS providers play in our community.

Please join us in congratulating Robert on this well-deserved honor! 👏

We also want to express gratitude to the VFW for their continued support and consistency in recognizing those who serve.
