On Sunday, May 24, at approximately 9:45pm officers with the Fort Pierce Police Department heard gunshots in the area of N. 23rd Street and Avenue E. When officers arrived on scene, they located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound lying on the sidewalk. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition.

Through investigative efforts detectives were able to identify the shooter as 18-year-old Elijah Robinson.

Today, May 26, Fort Pierce Police Department officers arrested Robinson without incident. He is currently being held at the St. Lucie County Jail on a charge of Attempted First Degree Murder.

Thanks to the swift work of our officers and detectives, and cooperation from community members, we were able to bring this case to a safe resolution.

This investigation is still active and a motive has not yet been determined. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Pierce Police Department at 772-462-6800 or Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at www.tcwatch.org.
