The City of Fort Pierce invites the community to join us on Friday, September 11, 2026, for the 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony and Memorial Service at Veterans Memorial Park.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001. Together, we will remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost, honor the courage and sacrifice of first responders, veterans, and service members, and reflect on the unity and resilience demonstrated in the aftermath of that day.

The ceremony will also pay special tribute to Fort Pierce native CeeCee Ross Lyles, a flight attendant aboard United Airlines Flight 93, whose courage and legacy remain an important part of our community’s history.

The program will include a 25th Anniversary Remembrance, Ceremonial Wreath Presentation, Voices of Remembrance, Recognition of First Responders and Military Members, a Scholarship Presentation, a Three-Volley Salute, Taps, and an Amazing Grace Performance.

The intersection of South 33rd Street and Delaware Avenue is scheduled to close temporarily for drainage improvements related to the roadway reconstruction of the intersection. There will be intermittent partial and full roadway closures of 33rd Street and/or Delaware Avenue beginning on Monday, August 24, 2026, through Saturday, August 29, 2026.

Please use extra caution in the area. Detour signs will be in place to guide motorists around the closure. Maps are attached for your reference.
