Let's all congratulate us with another cup of tea! Join the Amsterdam Free Library as we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Disney’s animated film Alice in Wonderland. We're throwing a whimsical UnBirthday Party, filled with tea, a choice of sandwich, treats, and mayhem! Our party is open to partygoers age 3 and up. An RSVP is re required to attend!

Thank you to everyone who attended our initial sessions of Computer Club! Hosted by our friends at .ny, this group meets from 10 am to 1 pm every first and third Saturday. Whether you're interested in basic computer troubleshooting, Internet and router help, or even building and maintaining your own computers, this group is the place for you! If interested, please feel free to join us for our next session, which is coming up this Saturday, September 5th.

We're excited to announce the debut of a new program at the library: Dungeons & Dragons, for kids by kids! Beginning on September 5th, this volunteer-led group will meet Saturdays from 11 am to 1 pm for an ongoing D&D campaign. Kids ages 8 to 16 are welcome to attend! (If you have a pre-made character you'd like to bring, that would be welcome--but not required!)

Interested adventurers should mark their calendars for the first session on September 5th, and join us here at the library at 11 am. We can't wait!

Coming up on Friday, September 4th: it's the next Kids of Earth! This month, we'll be exploring the science of rainbows (including how to create your own at home), and building rainbow crafts from recycled materials. We hope to see you there!

Kids of Earth is a student-led program exploring a variety of scientific topic, open to kids grades K through 8. Join us for a new session every first Friday, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm!

It was a busy weekend for us here in Fort Plain! On Saturday, the Library Ensemble performed some medieval tunes at Sleepy Forest Bakeshop, and dropped by the library itself afterwards for an impromptu encore (interested in joining the Ensemble? They meet here at the library every first and third Wednesday, from 6 to 7:30 pm)! Then on Sunday, we were happy to be part of the community giveaway in Haslett Park (thanks to for the invite!), where we had free books and activities for children! Thank you to everyone who came out for these events!
