Passing the guidon. Honoring the legacy.

JRTC and Fort Polk held a change of responsibility ceremony this morning, marking the transition of senior enlisted leadership from Command Sgt. Maj. Oracio Pena to Command Sgt. Maj. Nicholas Ford.

We thank Command Sgt. Maj. Pena and his family for their dedicated service, leadership and commitment to the Soldiers, Families and civilians of JRTC and Fort Polk. Their impact on the Forge will be felt long after today.

We also welcome Command Sgt. Maj. Ford and his family to the JRTC and Fort Polk team as we continue building combat-ready formations and preparing warfighters for the fight ahead.

Realistic. Rugged. Relentless.

At JRTC and Fort Polk, training is designed to test warfighters under pressure, in complex terrain, against real-world challenges. Every movement, every decision and every rep builds sharper, more lethal formations ready for the next fight.

This is where readiness is forged.

The Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk was honored to participate in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery Memorial Day Ceremony as we joined Veterans, Gold Star Families and our community in remembering those who gave their lives in service to our nation.

β€œAcross generations, Louisiana families have given America their very best,” said Maj. Gen. Jason Curl, commanding general of JRTC and Fort Polk. β€œTheir sacrifice is woven into the fabric of our communities, our Army and our nation.”

Today, we remember the fallen, honor their legacy and recommit ourselves to carrying their memory forward. πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

Today, we pause to remember the brave men and women who gave their lives in defense of our Nation. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy and continues to inspire the next generation of warfighters.

We also honor the Gold Star Families who carry the weight of that sacrifice every day. Their strength, resilience, and enduring love for those they lost will never be forgotten.

At JRTC and Fort Polk, we train with purpose because we understand freedom is not free. We remember the fallen by remaining ready to answer the call, just as they did.

May we never forget those who gave all.

No easy days in The Box.

3rd Brigade Mobile Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division came to JRTC to fight, adapt, and sharpen the skills needed to win on tomorrow’s battlefield. Every hard lesson learned here builds tougher leaders, deadlier formations, and more lethal warfighters.

This is where readiness is forged.
