Remembering Extortion 17 | August 6, 2011

Today, pauses in solemn remembrance of the 38 brave warriors and one loyal military working dog who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

On this day in 2011, the crew and quick reaction force aboard Extortion 17 answered the call without hesitation, rushing into the Tangi Valley of Afghanistan to reinforce their fellow brothers-in-arms under heavy fire. They embodied the highest values of courage, selflessness, and devotion to duty.

As a military medical treatment facility, we witness daily the incredible resilience of our soldiers and the profound sacrifices made by military families. Today, our hearts are with the Gold Star families, teammates, and loved ones who continue to carry their legacy forward.

We take a moment of silence, to honor their memory by renewing our commitment to caring for those who serve, those who have served, and the families who stand beside them.

We will never forget. 🕊️⚓️🪖
