The Wolverine Battalion (4-1 BSTB), 4th IBCT, 1st Infantry Division, conducted their inactivation ceremony at Cavalry Parade Field May 12 on Fort Riley. The Wolverines were the fifth out of five battalions and one squadron in the “Dragon” brigade to case their colors as a result of the Budget Control Act and the Army’s continual restructuring of divisional units. Many Soldiers within the battalion will be re-assigned to different units across the division, while others will explore new endeavors as they carry on permanent change of station moves.

The Wolverines held the battalion's final (Hail and) Farewell at Colbert Hills Country Club, enjoying a delicious meal and bidding goodbye to friends and colleagues as they move on to new organizations both within the Army and beyond. A special thank you to the hard work of the S1 shop for their role in providing the plaques and honors for the attendees, and to the families of all the Soldiers who receive no awards but are an instrumental and inseparable part of the unit. Please feel free to tag yourself or your friends in their pictures, or use the message box to send any additional pictures from the evening!
