Join Fort Scott FFA and Hunter's Safety Instructor Garry Cook to earn your Hunter's Safety certification!

Must be 11 years of age or older.
Must attend ALL three sessions to earn the certificate.

Session 1: Tuesday, September 15th 6pm-10pm 2 FSHS (instructional time)
Session 2: Thursday, September 17th 6pm-10pm @ FSHS (instructional time)
Session 3: Saturday, September 19th 8am-12pm @ Hollister Wildlife (hands-on lab)

Drinks and snack will be provided both evenings.

Starting today Vilius Paliulis will be conducting door to door sales in Bourbon County for educational aids and materials. Vilius is in the United States in a culture exchange program so please be kind.

This message is simply to inform the community that Mr. Paliulis will be working in the community and not a promotion of his company.

Inmates with the Bourbon County Jail work crew along with jail administration and other local volunteers assisted with unloading a food bank truck at The Beacon this morning. The Beacon provides food and other necessities to those in need in our community. We are very proud to help our community and the residents of Bourbon County in any way we can.

Notice of Office Closure

The Administration Office will be closed on Tuesday, June 9, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The closure is due to a Life Saving Award presentation being given to one of our deputies during this time. The ceremony will be held in the auditorium of the Ellis Fine Arts Center at Fort Scott Community College.

We will still have deputies available if any emergency arises.

We appreciate your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience.

Today, a couple inmates from our Honor Pod had the opportunity to assist the Fort Scott Good Ol’ Days Committee with moving equipment and preparing for this weekend’s festival. We are grateful for chances to contribute positively to the community and are always happy to lend a helping hand when possible.
