We love working with producers and partners in our community and region. Today we added a brand new line of dog treats from Kansas City Dog Treats Co.

Scott Poore at KC Dog Treats has been an animal advocate in KC for more than a decade. Each purchase made in the Mercantile of these fabulous dog treats support Scott and his work and a portion of proceeds will benefit the Ft Scott Paws and Claws TNR mission.

While we're closed in the month of January, we're scheduling some fun post to share a bit more about our building and our businesses.

The top left photo with people as from a recent event held in the space. The top right is the stage as it appeared when we purchased the building and 2022. The lower left photo was taken by the preservation crew hired to remove the original stage backdrops and transport them to a museum in Minnesota. The lower right hand photo is from a stylized postcard produced by the Scottish Rite.

It can be hard to imagine the scale of the room unless you have been in it. The seating portion of the theater is about 4 stories high while the stage area is about 6 stories high to accommodate the original backdrops and riggings.

We will be installing our distilling equipment on the stage so we can leave the theater as it was built. In addition to using the stage as a manufacturing space, it will also accommodate bourbon barrels during the aging process. The stage alone is close to 2000 square foot so that should give us plenty of space for micro distillery operations!

Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, the Market & Mercantile will be open until 9 pm!

Stop in before or after the parade for great stocking stuffers and holiday gifts.

Complimentary coffee and hot chocolate were hit last year before the parade so we'll be offering it again this year from 5:00 until parade time!

For adults wanting to kick it up a notch, we will also be offering our Gluhwein again this year. Gluhwein is a traditional warm German mulled wine. $5 for dine in $8 for a to go cup.

Cafe will also be serving Cheesecake, Fudge Torte, and Mudd Brownies!
