Change is easier when you don’t have to do it alone☀️

It is best to visit your primary care first to gather more information about your options. Your medical team helps evaluate your health, discuss treatment options, and determine whether weight-loss medication may be appropriate for you.

Medication can be a tool—but it’s only one piece of the puzzle.

Nutrition is about more than counting calories.

You’ll learn how to build sustainable eating habits, fuel your body, manage portions, and make choices you can maintain for the long term.

The goal: progress you can live with.

Visit the AFWC and Nutrition Care and get more information to help you be successful.

🏋️‍♀️ THE IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISE 🏃‍♀️

Exercise isn’t just about losing weight or changing the way you look. It’s about taking care of your whole body—inside and out.

Regular exercise can:

🧠 Boost your mood & reduce stress
Exercise can help you feel better mentally and manage everyday stress.

💪 Strengthen muscles & bones
Resistance and weight-bearing exercise help build and maintain strong muscles and bones.

❤️ Improves heart health
Regular physical activity helps keep your cardiovascular system strong and healthy.

🧠 Enhances Cognitive Function
Exercise can benefit memory, focus, and overall cognitive function.

And the best part? You don’t have to be an athlete to benefit. Every walk, workout, stretch, game, or active moment counts.

Find movement you enjoy, make it part of your routine, and give your body the gift of movement. ❤️

Move for your body. Move for your mind. Move for your life.

Check Your Head 🗣️🧠

Do you struggle staying on track while on the go? Below are 5 ways to check-in with yourself while on the go.

🍎 Decide whether you’ll stay on track with your healthy habits or take a temporary break. Either way is good as long as it’s a conscious choice.

🍎 Aim for “better” instead of perfect. This helps you avoid the “all-or-nothing” mentality.

🍎 Hunger is not an emergency. It’s OK to be hungry for a couple of hours if you don’t like your food options.

🍎 What are your “minimums”? (i.e. at least one serving of greens a day, two workouts a week, etc.)

🍎 No matter what happens you can always fall back on the simple stuff: eat slowly and mindfully until satisfied (80% full).

If you need help staying accountable and on track with your goals, make an appointment to visit with one of our health educators. Our educators are here to help keep you on track with your goals via Health Coaching.

💪 Myth vs. Fact 💪

❌ Myth: Strength training makes you stiff.

✅ Fact: When done through a full range of motion, strength training can actually improve your flexibility while making you stronger.

You don’t have to choose between strength and mobility—you can build both at the same time. Strong muscles help support healthy joints, improve movement, and make everyday activities feel easier.

Train with good form, move through your full range of motion, and you’ll build a body that’s not only stronger, but moves better too. 💙

💪 No Pain, All Gain 💪

❌ Myth: You have to be sore for a workout to be effective.

✅ Truth: Muscle soreness isn’t a measure of success—it simply means your body was challenged in a new way or worked harder than it’s used to.

The real secret to progress is consistency, not constantly pushing yourself to the point of soreness. You can build strength, improve your fitness, and see amazing results without feeling stiff and achy after every workout.

Train smart, recover well, and listen to your body. Progress comes from showing up consistently—not from how sore you feel the next day. 💙
