The Comanche Springs 2026 Youth Art is on exhibit at the Fort Stockton Public Library. Abigail and her family came by to see her art piece on display. Viewing her artwork sparked excitement and inspiration in her. The artwork will be displayed from April 27th to May 8th.

Melba read “Acoustic Rooster and his Barnyard Band “ written by Kwame Alexander. Acoustic Rooster hopes to win the Barnyard Talent Show but first he needs a band. He was turned away by Thelonius Monkey, Mules Davis, and Ella Finchgerald. So he starts his own jazz band with Duck Ellington, Bee Holiday, and Poncho Ernesto Cruz. The book references real musicians with a slight change of name. The foursome make beautiful music as they rock the barnyard. Although they didn’t win, they learn not to give up and that working together they can make something wonderful!
