Recent rain and flooding across Pecos County can quickly make roadways dangerous. Just a few inches of moving water can sweep a vehicle away.

The Fort Stockton Police Department urges everyone to use caution during severe weather:

• Never drive through flooded roadways
• Obey barricades and warning signs
• Slow down during heavy rain
• Find an alternate route when roads are covered with water

When in doubt, TURN AROUND, DON’T DROWN.

If you encounter a roadway emergency, call 911 immediately. Stay safe, Fort Stockton & Pecos County. 🚔🌧️

⛈️ Potential Hazards Include:
• Large hail (possibly golf ball size or larger)
• Damaging wind gusts
• Frequent lightning
• Heavy rainfall that could lead to localized flash flooding

🕑 Storms are expected mainly between 2 PM and Midnight.

Please remain weather aware throughout the day and evening. Have multiple ways to receive weather warnings and be prepared to take action if warnings are issued for your area.

The Fort Stockton Police Department would like to congratulate all graduates on this incredible achievement! Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have paid off, and we are proud to celebrate this special milestone with our community.

The Fort Stockton Police Department would like to introduce our newest patrol officer, Officer Hector S. Holguin Jr.

Officer Holguin brings over 20 years of law enforcement experience and a strong commitment to serving the community with integrity, professionalism, and fairness. His background includes investigations, case management, legal procedures, and interagency collaboration.

A graduate of the Law Enforcement Academy and Sul Ross State University with a Bachelor’s degree, Officer Holguin recently moved to Fort Stockton to continue the next chapter of his law enforcement career and give back to the community his family proudly calls home.

His wife has served as an educator in Fort Stockton for the past eight years, and Officer Holguin looks forward to building positive relationships while serving the residents of Fort Stockton with honor, respect, and dedication.

The department is excited to welcome Officer Holguin to our team and community. If you see him around town, be sure to say hello!
