⛈️ Severe Weather Update🌪️⚡️⛈️

Fort Stockton and parts of Pecos County experienced significant severe weather today, including heavy rain, strong winds, hail, and a reported tornado northeast of town.

We know storms like this can be unsettling, and we want to encourage everyone to remain weather aware and continue monitoring trusted alerts as conditions can change quickly.

Please use caution while traveling, avoid flooded roadways, stay away from downed power lines or damaged areas, and check on family, friends, and neighbors when it is safe to do so.

We also want to thank our first responders, emergency personnel, and community members who stepped up throughout the storm and helped keep others safe.

Please continue to be careful and look out for one another.

Stay safe, Fort Stockton. 💙— Fort Stockton Police Department

A special thank you to Pecos County State Bank and First National Bank for welcoming us and allowing us to join them for the evening. We truly appreciate your continued support of our community and our first responders.

We also want to recognize and thank all of the agencies who came out and participated:

⭐ Pecos County Sheriff’s Office
🚑 Pecos County EMS
🚒 Fort Stockton Fire Department
🌲 Texas A&M Forest Service

And to our Fort Stockton community — THANK YOU! 💙 Whether you stopped by for a few minutes or stayed and visited with us, we loved seeing the families, conversations, smiles, and support throughout the evening.

National Night Out is today!!! 💙 come hang out with us!!!

📣 NATIONAL NIGHT OUT UPDATE 🇺🇸🚓🚒🚑

This year, we’re focusing on what matters most — community, connection, and safety.

For this year’s National Night Out, our first responders will be joining our community partners at TWO locations throughout Fort Stockton from 6:00–8:00 PM!

This setup gives our community the opportunity to spend time with law enforcement, fire, EMS, and other first responders in a fun, relaxed, and most importantly, safe environment.

💙 A MESSAGE FROM OUR CHIEF OF POLICE:

“National Night Out is about bringing our community and first responders together, but nothing is more important than making sure everyone gets home safely. We want our community to come out, have fun, meet the men and women who serve you, and enjoy the evening together — but we want to do it in the safest way possible.

Safety will always come first. Our goal is simple: bring our community together, have a great time, and make sure everyone goes home safe.”

🚓🚒🚑 OUR TWO NATIONAL NIGHT OUT LOCATIONS:

📍 Pecos County State Bank – Motor Bank 501 W. Dickinson

📍 First National Bank of Fort Stockton
1000 W. Dickinson Blvd.

🕕 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM

Come out to either location to visit with your local first responders and enjoy the activities our community partners have planned. We’ll have first responders at both locations so our community has two places to come together and enjoy the evening.

We look forward to spending National Night Out with you! 💙

Two locations. One community. One goal — a safe and fun night for everyone. 🚓🚒🚑

⚠️ PUBLIC SAFETY NOTICE ⚠️

We are aware of a Facebook post circulating stating that law enforcement has been searching for two armed fugitives for approximately two weeks. This information is not accurate, and there is no known threat to public safety related to this claim.

Our officers are actively working around the clock—taking calls, responding to incidents, conducting investigations, and patrolling our neighborhoods. These are normal, everyday duties of law enforcement and do not always require a public notification.

Please be mindful when sharing unverified information. If there is a situation the public needs to know about, the Fort Stockton Police Department will communicate it through our official channels.

Thank you for helping us keep our community accurately informed.

🚔🌟 CAREER DAY AT FORT STOCKTON HIGH SCHOOL! 🌟🚔

Members of the Fort Stockton Police Department had a great time participating in Career Day at Fort Stockton High School!

It was a great opportunity to connect with students, share what it’s like to work in public safety, and introduce them to the many different career opportunities within our department. 🚔📞💙

We always enjoy spending time with our local students, answering their questions, and hopefully inspiring the next generation of public safety professionals!

A big thank you to Fort Stockton High School for inviting us to be part of Career Day!

Another round of storms are expected to develop this afternoon across SE NM and far W TX. The primary threats with the strongest storms will be heavy rainfall leading to flash flooding, damaging winds, and a brief spin-up tornado or two. The greatest concern for the tornado threat will be across locations in the dashed yellow circle this afternoon through the late evening. Ensure you have multiple ways to receive warnings!
