🚨Public Announcement🚨 The De Baca County Sheriff's Office wants to inform the community that a Black Bear has been seen heading northbound on Truchas Creek near Old Town. Game and Fish has been notified; however, we want residents to avoid approaching the bear and to call 911 if they encounter it. Currently, the bear shows no signs of aggression. 🚨 To the public as of right now both individuals have been detained and are currently in custody. The New Mexico State Police will provide additional information shortly. 🚨

🚨The De Baca County Sheriff’s Office wishes to notify the public of an active manhunt within De Baca County. Currently, both suspects have been identified, and law enforcement authorities are actively attempting to locate them. Due to limited personnel resources, the sheriff’s office is unable to provide hourly updates, as personnel are primarily assigned to field operations. The investigation is being conducted by the New Mexico State Police, which will release further information through official channels as it becomes available. Reports indicate that both suspects remain within De Baca County. Residents are advised to secure their homes and vehicles to ensure safety. The safety of all individuals remains the highest priority. Multiple law enforcement agencies continue their efforts until the suspects are apprehended. Both individuals are considered armed and dangerous. 🚨
