HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8 PM EDT FRIDAY... ...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING
* WHAT...For the first Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 107.
For the second Heat Advisory, heat index values up to 108 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of central, east central, north central,
northeast, southeast, and west central Georgia.

* WHEN...For the first Heat Advisory, until 8 PM EDT this evening.
For the second Heat Advisory, from noon to 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.
Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.

Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose
fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning
or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and
heat stroke.

* IMPACTS...Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern Macon, southeastern Peach and Houston Counties through 815 PM EDT
Special Weather Statement issued August 6 at 7:27PM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA
At 727 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Moss Oak, or near
Perry, moving north at 5 mph.

HAZARD...Up to 40 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
ground lightning.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Perry, Fort Valley, Warner Robins, Byron, Saint Louis, Meadowdale,
Sand Bed, Houston Lake, Elko, Grove Park, Lakewood, Powerville, Moss
Oak, Bonaire, Henderson, Miami Valley, Kathleen, and Clinchfield.

Strong thunderstorms will impact portions of western Macon, southeastern Marion, northeastern Webster, west central Peach, southwestern Crawford, Schley, northwestern Sumter and central Taylor Counties through 130 PM EDT

At 101 PM EDT, a line of strong thunderstorms was along a line
extending from Reynolds to near Murrays Crossroads to near
Draneville, and moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds 40 to 50 mph, frequent lightning and heavy rain.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Locations impacted include...
Butler, Ellaville, Reynolds, Ideal, Putnam, Murrays Crossroads,
Whitewater State Park, Nakomis, Fountainville, Rupert, La Crosse,
Garden Valley, Draneville, Hicks, Potterville, Friendship, Doyle,
