In 2020, the Fort Walton Beach Recreation Department found ways to continue services during the pandemic and came up with creative ideas to entertain and educate residents and visitors. Some services even saw increases in activity. Shout out to golf and the library! It is an honor to serve the FWB community. We look forward to a better and brighter 2021! Friends, most of you realize there is an election coming up in March for the city of FWB. 3 seats are up for election. The City is moving in a great direction with services, repairs, upgrades and public safety. Our police and fire department are second to none. This election can have a big impact on our city. I would ask all you to not concentrate on yard signs, but concentrate on the individuals. Ask the hard questions such as ; why are you running, what are your plans for growth, your plans for first responders, will you dedicate the time necessary for the position, will your serve on the various boards in the city area? These are just a few of the questions the candidates should answer as well as the current council members. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me by phone, text, comments here or email. There is a candidate forum at the auditorium Tuesday at 5:00, try to come and start asking these questions.

I am very fortunate to be able to attend the Florida League of Cities Legislative Conference. The information and workshops provided is an incredible resource. I appreciate the chance to serve on the Economic and Land use subcommittee and prepare for the up coming Legislative session where I and your councilmembers who attend these conferences can speak with the legislators on our cities behalf and fight for Home Rule.

Very productive morning at the Capitol with Representative Mel Ponder, discussing issues of importance to our city.
