A new mail scam is targeting Veterans with official‑looking postcards that promote a fake “Veterans Savings Program.” The postcards advertise that Veterans and their spouses may qualify for up to $185 a month in additional Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) benefits – including CHAMPVA, TRICARE, and dental coverage – regardless of their VA disability rating.

Scammers are implying association with the VA and pressuring recipients to call the listed number within five days of receipt. They are using flattery and praise to trick Veterans and beneficiaries into disclosing personal identifying information, including Social Security numbers and dates of birth.

VA has received reports of incidents of this scam from Veterans in multiple states, including Iowa, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and South Carolina.

VA is urging Veterans to protect themselves by applying the following guidelines:
Never share personal or financial information with unverified contacts.
Don’t act on urgent requests from people you don't know. Legitimate VA communications will not pressure you to provide an immediate response or call you, unsolicited, for sensitive information.
If you receive a suspicious postcard, email, text, or call, ignore them, and do NOT call the number provided or click on any links.
Always verify the sender's identity, and when in doubt, contact VA directly at 1-800-MyVA411 (698-2411).

The Path of Honor Wind River Veterans Memorial will update its plaques in Fort Washakie. The plaques include the names of all military service members who live within the boundaries of the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming.

New names or name changes can be shared via this page or by email to [email protected].

Please look through the current list of names before submitting a name or changes. (Images attached) The last day to submit names and changes is September 1, 2026. This is open to all Veterans residing within the boundaries of the reservation, Native and non-Native.

Sharing on behalf of the organization: The Wall That Heals, a three-quarter scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C., will be on exhibit in Afton, Wyoming, from July 9–12, 2026.

This traveling memorial honors the more than 58,000 service members whose names are inscribed on the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The exhibit will be open to the public 24 hours a day throughout its stay, providing visitors the opportunity to reflect, remember, and pay tribute to those who served and sacrificed during the Vietnam War.

The Wall That Heals will travel through Jackson and arrive in Alpine, Wyoming, on Tuesday, July 7, 2026. From Alpine it will be escorted through Star Valley by a patriotic motorcade and vintage war bird flyover. Community members and visitors are encouraged to line the route, wave flags, and welcome the exhibit as it travels from Alpine through Star Valley Ranch, past the Afton Arch, and concludes at Star Valley Middle School in Afton.

The exhibit will be located at Star Valley Middle School and will feature both the traveling wall and a Mobile Education Center. The Education Center includes photographs, artifacts, and personal stories that help preserve the legacy of Vietnam Veterans while educating future generations about their service and sacrifice.

Admission is free, and all members of the public are encouraged to attend. Veterans, active-duty military personnel, families, students, and community members of all ages are welcome.

This is more than an exhibit—it is an opportunity for our community to come together in remembrance, gratitude, and healing. We invite everyone to visit and experience the profound impact of The Wall That Heals.

Exhibit Dates: July 9–12, 2026. Closing at 2:00 p.m. on July 12, Open 24 hours a day. Admission is free.
