A HUGE shout-out to our incredible volunteers at Twining Valley Park!
This weekend, an amazing group of volunteers came together to help us plant trees and reforest the central area of the park—and what an impact they made! With just under 30 volunteers, we planted more than 250 trees in only three hours! That’s an incredible amount of teamwork and dedication to our local environment. 🌳
This planting is part of a larger reforestation project at Twining Valley Park aimed at restoring tree canopy, increasing biodiversity, and creating healthy, thriving natural habitats for all of Upper Dublin's residents—both human and wildlife alike! Together, our volunteers planted 21 different species of native trees, bringing diversity and a strong foundation to Twining’s future forest. From species like sassafras, hickory, persimmon, and pawpaw to familiar forest staples like birch, oak, and maple, these trees will help build a more resilient ecosystem. Planting a diverse mix of native trees like this supports local wildlife by providing food and shelter, strengthens the forest against environmental stressors, and helps restore the natural benefits of our tree canopy for generations to come.
A heartfelt THANK YOU to every volunteer who rolled up their sleeves and helped make this planting possible, including scouts from Scouts BSA Troop 541 and Boy Scout Troop 542, Maple Glen PA! We can’t wait to watch the forest you helped plant grow, flourish, and become a valuable habitat for people and wildlife for years to come.
