Fall adventures this week in Miss Ellissa’s classroom!
What better way to learn about seasonal changes than to experience them firsthand? Miss Ellissa’s room took their learning outdoors for a five senses nature walk, where they observed how the world around us is changing.
Children noticed the leaves changing colors, explored why some leaves were falling to the ground, and discovered the fun of raking them into piles and jumping in! They also paid attention to how the air felt on their skin, whether they feel the wind blowing, and the different sights, sounds, and textures of fall.
While it may have looked like a simple walk outside, there was so much learning happening!
One of the most exciting parts of early childhood education is seeing how much learning can happen through everyday experiences. Whether the children are jumping in leaves, investigating pumpkins, or sharing discoveries through art and writing, they are building important skills while making meaningful connections to the world around them.
Learning is everywhere, and sometimes the best classroom is right outside the door!
