Earlier this year, Hope Alive was honored to receive a $5,000 grant from Parkview Community Health Improvement in support of our Community Counseling Program! This funding helps us break down financial barriers to mental health care for the most vulnerable in our community. We are grateful for Parkview’s ongoing commitment to the health and wellness of Allen County. 💙

There are moments in life when the weight feels heavy, anxiety feels loud, and the path ahead seems unclear. In those moments, it can be tempting to rely solely on our own understanding, trying to carry every burden ourselves.

But God gently reminds us that we were never meant to walk through life's struggles alone. Prayer is more than words. Prayer is an invitation to place our fears, worries, and uncertainties into the hands of a loving Father who sees the whole picture when we can only see a small part.

When we lean on Him, we find strength for today, hope for tomorrow, and peace that reaches beyond our circumstances. No matter what challenge you're facing, know that God is present, listening, and working even when you can't yet see the outcome.

God never asked us to carry every burden on our own. Caring for your mental health isn’t a lack of faith. It can also be an act of faith. Throughout Scripture, we see Jesus stepping away to rest, pray, and reconnect with the Father. Taking care of your mind and heart matters because you matter. God created us as whole people (mind, body and spirit) and He cares deeply about every part of our well-being. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or emotionally exhausted, remember this: seeking support is not weakness; it’s wisdom. Healing often begins when we take the courageous step to receive help. You are seen, you are valued, and there is hope.

We are so grateful for residents like Misty, who has been lending a helping hand as we prepare for our Annual Gala. Misty’s willingness to serve is a beautiful reminder of that. Her strength, perseverance, and steady spirit continue to inspire us as she walks her own journey with courage and grace. Watching her give back while continuing to grow is a reflection of the hope and encouragement we strive to share every day. Thank you, Misty, for being such an important part of the Hope Alive family and for showing us what resilience and hope in action look like.

We’re also excited to invite our community to join us for our Annual Gala on September 18th from 5:30–8:30 PM at Brookside Church in Fort Wayne, IN 46835. We can’t wait to celebrate the stories, lives, and impact that make Hope Alive so special.

Mental health struggles are more common than many people realize, and the need for support here in our community is real.

• In Allen County, 1 in 4 adults report struggling with anxiety.
• Nearly 1 in 4 local youth say they have no one to talk to about depression or suicidal thoughts.
• Fort Wayne faces a 670:1 mental health provider shortage.

God never intended for us to walk through pain alone, and healing often begins when we feel safe, seen, heard, and supported. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we encourage you to check in on your loved ones, give yourself grace, and remember that seeking help is not weakness. It is is courage. There is hope, there is healing, and there are people who care.
