**Update- Marigold is now back with her family and dog siblings on Branning! đź’›

This sweet and scared ginger-colored mini doodle mix was crossing the 4000 blk of Indiana Avenue between Branning and West Foster Pkwy heading east in Barcalow’s driveway at 3:45. He is now trying to relax with ice water in the shade on my late dogs deck bed. Direct message if you recognize her or 241-4543 with info on owners LDOFW

The Course has changed. Check the maps.

We love Fort4Fitness! The half marathon and 10K past through Historic Southwood Park on Saturday, 9/26/26.

ROUTE CHANGES:
***HALF-MARATHON will travel south on Fairfield Avenue this year! It will travel north via South Wayne Avenue, as usual. The map also suggests it will travel on the Foster Park trail along Old Mill Road instead of *ON* the street.

***10K will also travel south on Fairfield, turn right on Maple Grove (instead of Pettit), and right again on South Wayne, as usual.

What does this mean?
- Please plan your travel so you do not cross the course by car.
- If you live on a surrounded block in Southwood Park, park your vehicle east of Fairfield or west of South Wayne.
- If you live on the "exit" streets of Southwood Park (like Indiana), we suggest you park off the street. There will be many "lost drivers".
- Travel will be slow that morning between here and downtown.

We love showing off our beautiful neighborhood! Cheer on the runners! Join a cheer group on Sherwood Terrace or South Wayne!

Fort4Fitness is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring healthy living through hosting fitness events and programs in Northeast Indiana.

Did you see the wonderful artwork of our Home and Garden Tour sites? Historic Southwood Park commissioned the paintings as thank-you gifts to each of the participating homeowners for our June event.

The paintings were created by HelloJordan Art. Contact her if you're interested in one for your home!

We will highlight each of the paintings in the near future. The tour description of the home is in the comments. Let's start with 1255 Sunset Drive!

Several neighbors have piled tree limbs and yard waste bags curbside.

To be helpful, let’s review what you can and cannot do with yard waste, especially after a storm.

1. You CAN cut up limbs and brush and put them in your trash bin.
2. You CANNOT throw large amounts of leaves in the trash legally. There are prohibited from landfills by Indiana law.
3. You CAN start a compost pile. It just takes a commitment to follow up.
4. You CANNOT burn leaves or brush in a bonfire in city limits.
5. You CAN take limbs and yard waste to the City Biosolids Handling Facility on Lake Avenue (see attached photo for summer hours). Minimal fees apply.
6. You CAN drop off certain types of yard waste at the Dirt Wain composting site on Old US 24 east of New Haven. See the other three attached photos, or visit DirtWain.com for more info. They also have various composting subscriptions available!
7. You CANNOT dump yard waste in Foster Park.

With all the storms we've had, there are many branches blocking our storm drains.

If you have room to scoop some of them into your trash bins tonight, our storm drains will be more effective!

Clogged storm drains can cause flooding when it rains, affecting neighborhoods and surrounding infrastructure. When debris enters our waterways, the wildlife that inhabit our rivers are at risk! Become a drain stormer today and be a local hero to your community and our rivers! For more information, visit CleanDrainsintheFort.org.
