When our elected officials tell us who they are, we should listen.

In case you missed it, Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith said, “We need to be okay with hating again,” in a rant about Muslims.

There is no place for discrimination, especially from elected officials. Where are his Republican colleagues? Why hasn't the Indiana Republican Party spoken out against this? Their silence is deafening.

Beckwith first began making comments about Islam last Thursday during an appearance on the Christian talk show “Flashpoint.”

Today, Indiana Democratic Party announced Jessica Bailey and Coumba Kebe as our candidates for State Comptroller and State Treasurer!

Bailey is the current Porter County Clerk, and has spent her two terms making the office more efficient for taxpayers, voters, and businesses. Kebe is a public health professional from Hamilton County who has overseen multi-million dollar budgets and wants to make our state government accountable to Hoosiers.

These candidates will be officially nominated at State Convention (June 6) to represent the party in the general election.
