Many of you may not know, but Sara Mir, a former North teacher, and her family have been going through a pretty difficult stage in life. First, her best friend/sister, our beloved Candyce Buescher, passed away in March. Then, in April, her dad had a massive heart attack and passed away. Now, her husband Yash is having his own battles. The doctors have told him he needs/must have Deep Brain Stimulation or his early-onset Parkinson’s is only going to get worse.

We have setup a GoFundMe page to help alleviate some of the burden for Yash, Sara, and their family. We didn’t expect his diagnosis to progress so quickly, but the pain, dyskinesia, and slowness have taken a toll on him. The doctors have scheduled him for surgery in early June.

Not only is Sara worries, due to all that’s been going on, but Yash is putting on a brave face while masking the unknown fears of what’s to come.
