Wow…it’s here! Senior Year & 5th Grade! M&M’s first last day of school and ABC’s first day at Trinity Valley School. So many emotions but so proud of these young women.

Last week, I visited the Presbyterian Night Shelter's The Greater Good Collective located in the Las Vegas Trail area in District 3 (2603 S Cherry Lane). There I saw firsthand the meaningful work underway through coffee, thrifting, donations, and job opportunities for neighbors rebuilding their lives. It was great to see within only a few days of opening so many friendly faces already using the coffee shop to work, meet with friends, and relax.

Thank you to Toby Owen, Barbara Clark-Galupi, and the team at Presbyterian Night Shelter for leading with purpose and creating real opportunity in our community. City of Fort Worth

Thanks, FW Inc., for sharing this commentary. Like many families across the City of Fort Worth, the Crain family has faced its own challenges with child care. As we all feel the budget pinch, I think this is an issue on which we all can agree needs to continue to be a priority as we look to its effects on our economy and workforce development. Michael D. Crain

As summer gives way to another school year, Fort Worth families are once again confronting a familiar problem: how to make childcare fit with work, school schedules, and household budgets. The answer matters not only to parents and children, but to Fort Worth’s workforce and economy.

Think Fort Worth is all concrete and cowtown? Think again!

Right here in our city, the Fort Worth Nature Center & Refuge offers 3,700 acres of forests, prairie and wetlands—plus alligators who are apparently *very* committed to keeping things wild. Take a look in the latest *Fort Worth Forward*!

Happy Friday! Sometimes, in the middle of the day-to-day minutiae and grind, we all need a positive break—an interlude that helps us reset.

I just took a few minutes to watch my friend Adrian Garza and Fort Worth's own perform original songs on *In the Music Room*, and it was exactly that. If you could use a little lift today, I encourage you to give it a look!
