The Tarrant County Young Democrats are a group of students, young professionals and young-at-heart Democrats. We work to spread the Democratic message to voters through fundraising, voter registration drives, block walking, community outreach events, volunteering, press events, and other activities. Right now, all eyes are on Tarrant County — and I just told CNN why.

Tarrant has been red for 30+ years. But in March, Democrats outvoted Republicans here by 40,000. We flipped a State Senate district that went 17 points for Trump.

So what did Republicans do? They cut 92 polling places, mostly in Black and Latino neighborhoods. SHOCKER.

I've spent years fighting on the Commissioners Court. I won't back down. But I need backup from Democrats across this state who understand what's at stake.

When Tarrant flips, James, Gina, and Vikki win. When Tarrant flips, Texas finally flips.

Rep. James Talarico stood with me in Arlington to fight an effort to cut 92 polling sites — nearly a third of Election Day locations.

COLLEGE STUDENTS DESERVE TO VOTE ON CAMPUS. Manny Ramirez said at the last meeting he wanted to restore college campuses, yet when the vote came yesterday, he voted against it! UTA should be a polling site. All TCC locations should have polling sites. Not just the Conservative TCU.

Once again, he has broken his word! Let’s elect Nydia Cárdenas because she will actually be a voice for the young people of Tarrant.

I WILL condemn political violence without reservation. Political violence is wrong, and has no place in Tarrant County, or in the United States of America.

I WON’T vote on behalf of 2.2 million Tarrant County residents to honor anyone who called the 1964 Civil Rights Act a "huge mistake," and later "an anti-white weapon."

Those are two different things.

Bring me a resolution that condemns political assassinations, rejects political violence, AND extends condolences to family members, and I'll vote for it.

This resolution wrongfully asked the county seal to settle a national political argument for 2.2 million people who never got a vote on it.

Compassion should NOT require institutional amnesia.
