🏠 Room for One More: A Story of Hope 💙

When one of our residents was asked what Samaritan House meant to her, her answer was simple:

Safety. Home. A place to begin again.

After experiencing difficult circumstances and housing instability, she came to Samaritan House and found more than a place to live. She found support, community, and, for the first time in a long time, a place where she could truly feel safe.

She eventually reached a point where she was able to move forward independently.

Years later, when unexpected circumstances changed her life and she once again needed support, Samaritan House was here to welcome her home.

Her story reminds us why our work doesn't end with providing four walls and a bed. It's about creating stability, building relationships, and making sure people have somewhere to turn when life changes.

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

At Samaritan House, we know that sometimes the most important source of comfort has four paws and a wagging tail. 💙

Many of our residents have emotional support dogs who are an important part of their lives. They provide companionship, comfort, routine, and a familiar presence through some of life’s most difficult moments.

For someone working toward stability and independence, having a beloved dog by their side can mean having a constant companion to come home to, a reason to keep going on a hard day, and a whole lot of unconditional love. 🐶❤️

Today, on National Dog Day, we’re celebrating the dogs who bring comfort, joy, and hope to our residents — and recognizing that a safe place to call home can be just as important for our four-legged family members, too.

Here’s to the pups who make a house feel a little more like home. 🏠🐾
