Fire Marshal

The Tarrant Court Commissioners Court has approved a ban on outdoor burning, as recommended by the Tarrant County Fire Marshal. July is a dangerous month for fires – especially because of fireworks used in Independence Day celebrations.

“The unincorporated areas of Tarrant County don’t usually see drought conditions like this until late July or early August,” said Tarrant County Fire Marshal Randy Renois. “Not only do most cities in Tarrant County prohibit setting off fireworks within their municipal boundaries, but strict laws also control how they are set off in the unincorporated areas.”

He also noted that it’s illegal to pull over on the side of a county road and shoot off fireworks.
