Take extra precautions in the extreme heat. Please stay hydrated, limit time outdoors, and check on those who may be especially vulnerable. Stay safe Fort Worth!

An Extreme Heat Warning is in effect for North and Central Texas through this evening, with high temperatures up to 110° and heat index values from 102° to 112°. Extreme heat is dangerous, especially for those without reliable shelter. Limit outdoor activity during the hottest hours (2 to 7 PM), rest in shade or air conditioning, and drink plenty of water.

Honoring Fort Worth Trailblazer, Kay Granger 🇺🇸
Our community mourns the passing of a legendary leader, mentor, and neighbor. Former Congresswoman and Fort Worth Mayor Kay Granger dedicated nearly four decades of her life to public service. Long before she served in Washington, D.C., Kay represented Fort Worth. She served on the Fort Worth Zoning Commission and then on our very own Fort Worth City Council from 1989 to 1991. Her relentless work ethic and vision quickly propelled her to become Fort Worth's Mayor in 1991.

- First Female Mayor of Fort Worth (1991–1995)
- First Republican Woman elected to represent Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives (1997–2025)
- First Republican Woman to chair the powerful House Appropriations Committee

She never lost touch with her roots as a local teacher, a working single mother, and a small business owner. Her life stood as living proof of her deeply held conviction:

"Ordinary people can do extraordinary things."

From securing the future of the Naval Air Station Joint Reserve Base to championing national defense, she transformed the landscape of Fort Worth. She did it with a "substance over style" approach, putting in the hard work to lift up the neighborhoods she loved.
Congresswoman Granger, thank you for the work, representation, and fierce love of community.

Rest in peace.

Huge thank you to Chris Ash, President, Alliance Aviation Companies at Perot Field and Aaron Barth, City of Fort Worth Assistant Aviation Systems Director, and the team at Perot Field Fort Worth Alliance Airport for an incredible onsite experience! It was amazing to see firsthand why this facility is recognized as the world's first purely industrial airport. From the massive 11,000-foot dual runways to the bustling cargo hubs for Fedex and Amazon Air.✈️

A major highlight was learning more about their world-class Alliance Aviation Services FBO. The facility's top-tier amenities and dedicated 24/7 concierge status truly show why it sets the gold standard for corporate, military, and general aviation handling.🇺🇸 🧳💼

It is also incredibly exciting to see how the airport is shaping the future of aviation right here in Texas, especially with advanced tech companies like Joby Aviation and Aerolane setting up onsite operations.

A true "alliance!" A testament of a successful collaboration of a public-private partnership between Hillwood Development and the City of Fort Worth.

Thank you again, Chris and team for sharing your time, insights, and a behind-the-scenes look at the heartbeat of AllianceTexas in District10.
