“Service before self … I forgot myself” is a powerful statement.

Written by our own Senior Airman Paolo Felicitas, 446th Aircraft Maintenance Squadron, listen to his slam poem. He wants to spread the message of resiliency.

You are not alone. Reach out to someone.

If you or someone you know is hurting, please seek help and call the Military Crisis Line at 1-800-273-8255.

If you need someone to talk to call 446th Director of Psychological Health Kristi McCann at 253-861-8752 or 446th Chaplain Corps at 206-335-8003.

Disclaimer: Be advise this poem references a brief comment on suicide attempt.

Today we celebrate #WomensEqualityDay, honoring those who fought for equality, and still fight today.

This date in August was set aside by Congress in 1971 to commemorate the certification of the 19th Amendment. Ratified in 1920, the 19th Amendment prohibits the states and the federal government from denying the right to vote to U.S. citizens on the basis of sex. This historic milestone marked a significant victory for the suffrage movement in America and it represents progress for women seeking equal rights and treatment in all facets of American society.

Never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty - never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

An Airman: First, last, always...

Gen. David L. Goldfein’s four-year tenure as the 21st U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff is coming to an end. As he takes stock of a period marked by ground-breaking achievements, including birth of the United States Space Force, the evolution of Joint All Domain Command and Control, and unprecedented challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic, his most poignant – and treasured – memories are the bonds he forged with Airmen while engaging with them around the force over the years.

“Our Airmen are the most incredible, patriotic and disciplined,” he said in a recent interview. “This might be the next greatest generation. Every one of them joined the service while the nation was at war, and their innovative spirit, and willingness to endure hardships to serve in uniform is really inspiring.”

Did you know...

A PBM-3S Martin Mariner seaplane took off from Naval Air Station Banana River, now known as Patrick AFB, 75 years ago this month never to return.

The disappearance of the plane and its crew of 12 young Navy men remains a mystery to this day.

The massive PBM's regularly flew out of NAS Banana River on training and submarine hunting missions. This particular plane took off on a scheduled, round trip flight to the Bahamas on July 9, 1945.

It's disappearance resulted in one of the largest search and rescue efforts ever launched by the U.S. Navy which lasted over two weeks. Nothing was ever found.
