Our FIRST-EVER MCCHS Club Fair was a FIN-tastic success! 🎉🦈

The best part? This event was STUDENT-LED! Our students truly took the lead by designing their own posters, setting up their club tables, and creating interactive activities to showcase their organizations and reel in new members! Sharks explored the fair with their Blackout Bingo Cards, collecting signatures along the way for a chance to enter our prize raffle! 🎟️✨

A HUGE thank you to Mrs. Savage, our amazing event coordinator for helping bring it all together; our incredible student officers and club teacher sponsors for facilitating such an engaging experience; and our wonderful PTO for helping us “POP” off our first Club Fair with popsicles!🍧😎

We couldn’t be more proud of the leadership, creativity, and Shark spirit our students showed today. 💙💛

Friday, MCCHS was a divided house as we represented the New Orleans Saints vs. Dallas Cowboys matchup! The jerseys, team pride, and friendly rivalry were on full display. 💙💛
But no matter which team we cheered for, we remained ONE SHARK FAMILY, united around what matters most: the success of our students. 🦈

Had the opportunity to support one of our sophomores, Briaunna, at one of FWISD’s biggest rivalries: O.D. Wyatt (MCCHS) vs. Dunbar Volleyball! 🏐🦈💙💛

Enjoyed seeing the competition and, most importantly, having the opportunity to show up and support one of our Sharks!

📚💻 MAP & Benchmark Testing Week is Here, Shark Family!

MCCHS students will participate in MAP & Benchmark Testing August 25–28. These assessments provide important information about student learning and growth, so attendance and on-time arrival are especially important this week!

Please help our students come ready to do their best by ensuring they:

⏰ Arrive on time by 8:00 AM
💻 Bring their school-issued computer AND charger each day
😴 Get a good night’s rest and come ready to SHINE!

MCCHS is seeking a parent/guardian representative to serve on our Language Proficiency Assessment Committee (LPAC).🦈
LPAC is a campus committee that helps support the success of our Emergent Bilingual (EB) students.
We are looking for a parent/guardian who:
• Has a current student that participates in a Dual Language Immersion or English as a Second Language program at MCCHS
• Can commit to occasional meetings before or during school hours (7:30-3:30).
• Is interested in representing our families and supporting student success
✨ No experience necessary! Training and guidance will be provided. Spanish interpretation can also be provided during in-person meetings.

Students who need to recover attendance hours from the Spring semester have multiple opportunities to get back on track! We are offering a minimum of 20 hours of Attendance Recovery through Saturday School and after-school sessions.💙💛

📅 Saturday School: Aug. 22, Aug. 29 & Sept. 5 | 8:00 AM–1:00 PM
📅 After School: Sept. 9 & Sept. 16 | 3:30–6:30 PM
📍 Location: NW105/LRC | Enter through the Main Doors

Thank you to all of our new and returning parents, students, Student Council members, and staff who joined us in person and on Zoom! We enjoyed great food, fellowship, and even celebrated our raffle winners with gift cards and a Shark specialty swag basket! 🎉

A HUGE shoutout to our amazing PTO for already supporting MCCHS with our Back-to-School Staff Breakfast, customized staff T-shirts, new marquee letters, and so much more! 💙💛
