The Tarrant County Junior Livestock Show family is heartbroken over the loss of Gordon Carver.
Gordon passed away on April 21, 2026, leaving behind a legacy that is hard to put into words. If you spent any time in the rabbit barn at TCJLS, you knew Gordon. And if you knew Gordon, you knew how much he cared.
For nearly 40 years, he served as Co Chairman of the TCJLS Rabbit Committee and helped build the program into what it is today. But more than that, he showed up for people. He gave his time, his knowledge, and his whole heart to the rabbit industry and to the kids coming through it.
Gordon and his wife, Happy, spent over 50 years supporting youth through 4 H and FFA. He was the kind of person who remembered your name, encouraged you when you needed it, and celebrated your wins like they were his own. Whether you were brand new or had been showing for years, he made you feel like you belonged.
He was a leader, but never above anyone. He was a mentor, a steady presence, and someone you could always count on in the barn. The lessons he taught went far beyond rabbits.
The truth is, TCJLS will not feel the same without him. But his impact will be there in every handshake, every showmanship class, and every kid who walks into that barn because someone like Gordon once believed in them.
We are keeping Happy and the Carver family in our thoughts and prayers during this time.
Rest easy, Gordon. You meant a lot to a whole lot of people, and you will never be forgotten.
