We are to announce that Jon Schriver has been named the Head Band Director of the CTHS Ranger Regiment at Chisholm Trail High School, EMS ISD where he will continue the legacy of this highly regarded band program while helping students grow as performers, leaders, and individuals.

Super awesome! Ms. Walsh is the biggest advocate for her Fine Arts classroom at Hatley Elementary. We are !

Congratulations to Laura Walsh, Music and Art Teacher at Hatley Elementary School, who has be awarded an Educational Grant for her project "World Drumming for Every Student." She has creatively been using everyday objects as percussion instruments for the last year. Now students will be able to experience drumming on the Middle Eastern instrument, the doumbek. This will not just be super fun, but will expand students’ exposure to global musical traditions. Everyone is a little excited about these drums — the Hatley Elementary is beating with anticipation.

Congratulations to Melissa Holsworth, Music and Art Teacher at Willow Creek Elementary School, on her 21st Century Grant award for her project "Mini Art Studios in the Fine Arts Classroom." We are excited to see her project of bringing cultures around the world alive through drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, and mixed media. Students will be able to use a multitude of creative options to understand and interact with options beyond their daily experiences.

A wonderful congratulations to Melissa Danforth, Band Director at Highland Middle School, for her Educational Grant award for the purchase of band tuners and microphones. We are thrilled to support a District who values fine arts and are excited to see the growth in the number of students participating in band. We look forward to "hearing" great things from her students!
