The first-of-its-kind Smart Port being created at AllianceTexas integrates several layers of infrastructure – BNSF Railway's intermodal network, a 5G communication network with a centralized container-tracking database, power courtesy of a resilient microgrid, and a direct connection to Texas Department of Transportation's Texas Connected Freight Corridor.

When combined, these capabilities create a controlled environment within the (MIZ) where logistics companies can move seamlessly between rail and distribution facilities while operating with more efficiency and less risk.

The future of autonomous logistics isn't being built in Silicon Valley – it's being built in .

Our department's first duo of summer interns attended the ribbon cutting at The Harden at Public Market earlier this week, and got a tour of the impressive work going on to redevelop this iconic 1930's landmark.

Maria Pulido is from Carrollton and will be a senior at Texas Tech University this fall, majoring in management.

Samantha Sadler is from Denver, CO, and will be a senior at TCU – Texas Christian University this fall. She's majoring in finance and real estate, and minoring in psychology.

Big thanks to Wilks Development for the tour! We can't wait to see the finished product.

Yesterday, the City of Fort Worth was honored as the "Best City to Build Your Dream" by TMAC at their inaugural TMAC Manufacturing Excellence Awards, a statewide recognition of excellence as determined by judges from within the industry.

Manufacturing is foundational to 's economy in a way that expands across multiple sectors. Everything from aviation and aerospace to technology, healthcare and cosmetics, rare earth magnets, and many other products are built right here in Fort Worth, for companies and clients all over the world.

The Texas Manufacturing Assistance Center (TMAC) at University of Texas at Arlington Research Institute is a critical partner in this ecosystem – helping smaller manufacturers scale into larger ones, while also helping them become more efficient, resilient, and competitive.

We're grateful for this recognition, and will continue to work alongside TMAC and other local partners to propel Fort Worth's manufacturing industry forward.
