The Fort Worth ISD is monitoring the possibility of severe weather this afternoon. The District is not planning on any early dismissals. But, if severe storms are happening when schools are letting out dismissal at some schools could be delayed until the situation is safer. This could result in some students arriving home a little later than normal. We will do all we can to keep students safe. Thank you.

For the eighth consecutive year, Fort Worth ISD participated in Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl activities recently.

Festivities included a January 3 luncheon at the Fort Worth Convention Center and the annual bowl game on January 4 at Texas Christian University’s Amon G. Carter Stadium.

The Tulane Green Wave (7-6, 3-5 American Athletic) defeated the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles (7-6, 5-3 Conference USA) 30-13 in the 17th annual bowl. This game was the first appearance in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl for both teams and the first time the two football teams have competed against each other in a decade.

Ahead of the game, Cadet Angel Sanchez of Paschal High School sung the national anthem at annual Kick-off Armed Forces Bowl Luncheon on January 3.

The District’s Joint Services Color Guard, led by retired Col. Russell Malesky and retired 1st Sgt. Terrance Campbell, presented the U.S. and armed forces service flags at the luncheon.
