It’s no surprise that our Human Resources intern spent his summer building connections, collaborating across teams and learning what makes a workplace thrive.

Heading into his senior year at TCU – Texas Christian University, Kaedon joined UWTC earlier this summer as our Human Resources intern. His typical day included developing and reviewing policies and programs, assisting with onboarding new employees, and shadowing Beth, UWTC's chief human resources officer.

He also helped bring our All-Star-themed internal campaign to life, proving that HR can get in on the fun, too.

One of Kaedon's biggest takeaways was seeing how closely teams work together across UWTC. He also strengthened his organizational and time-management skills while balancing multiple projects and deadlines.

After graduation, Kaedon plans to pursue an MBA with a focus on human resources while continuing to build his career in the field.

Thanks for spending your summer with us, Kaedon! We’ve enjoyed having you on the team and can’t wait to see where your next chapter takes you.

A Saturday afternoon well spent with Money and Me!

UWTC’s free, family-friendly event at River Legacy Nature Center gave Greater Arlington families the chance to participate in hands-on workshops, explore community resources and enjoy all that the nature center has to offer.

We served 68 community members and distributed free backpacks to help families get ready for the school year.

We will always be grateful for you, Dolly Parton.

Through Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, more than 480,000 books have made their way into the hands of children across Tarrant County, helping build a love of reading from an early age.

United Way of Tarrant County launched our chapter of the program in 2008. Today, free books are mailed each month to children from birth to age 5 in underserved neighborhoods across 48 ZIP codes.

We’re grateful for the joy Dolly has shared through her music and the difference she continues to make for children. Her generosity has helped put new stories, new ideas and new possibilities into the hands of thousands of young readers.

Here’s to Dolly, her music and a legacy that proves a little imagination can go a long way.

It’s back-to-school season, and Tarrant County showed up to help local students start the year ready to learn!

UWTC brought the community together for two resource fairs during our annual Day of Action, helping local families get ready for the school year.

Between Artes de la Rosa Cultural Center for the Arts at the Rose Marine Theater in Fort Worth and O.H. Stowe Elementary in Haltom City, we distributed:

🎒652 backpacks and school supplies
📚 200 reading books
✏️ 60 early learning literacy kits
🥦 150 produce boxes
🫐 350 snacks

This was a true community effort. Thank you to our sponsors, Phoenix Metals Co., TD SYNNEX and Textron Inc., and to the 84 volunteers who assembled backpacks.

We’re also grateful to the organizations that hosted donation drives: DriveTime, FedEx, Federated Insurance, Gulfstream, Phoenix Metals Co., Sam's Club, TD Synnex and Worthington Bank.

Because of everyone who gave, volunteered and showed up, hundreds of Tarrant County students are heading into the school year with a little more of what they need to get started!

Last week, our finalists kicked off 12 weeks of coaching, collaboration and pitch preparation. Along the way, they’ll sharpen their pitches, learn from one another, and explore new opportunities to grow their work and expand their impact.

Their work spans some of our community’s biggest priorities, including financial security, community health, youth opportunity and community resiliency.

Then in November, during Global Entrepreneurship Week, they’ll take the stage to pitch their work and compete for a share of $75,000 in seed funding.

We’re excited to cheer them on as they take their work to the next level! Thank you to SCORE Mentors for mentoring this year’s finalists and TechFW for providing programming to help them prepare. Stay tuned as we follow them along on their journeys.

Here's to the next generation of athletes!

SMU Women's Basketball teamed up with United Way of Tarrant County to put together 75 sports kits filled with essentials like sunscreen, hair ties and other items to help young athletes stay active, comfortable and ready to go.

The kits were created for students at Diamond Hill North Side Youth Association, a 2026 Women United grantee that uses sports, mentorship and leadership opportunities to help young people thrive.

After assembling the kits, we brought them to one of DHNS Youth’s practices, where 75 students received a kit of their own. It was a small way to remind these young athletes that they have a community cheering them on, both on and off the court.
