Communities flourish when we invest in the people and places around us.

They grow when people care enough to plant seeds for the future, supporting education, families, local nonprofits and the everyday heroes who serve our community.

That’s the work happening through United Way of Tarrant County, and last year it helped reach nearly 400,000 people across Tarrant County.

Together, we’re helping our community take root and flourish.

That’s a wrap on the 2026 Women United Luncheon, and what a milestone-filled day it was!

This year, Women United awarded $115,000 to seven local nonprofits serving women and girls across Tarrant County, marking our highest grant total yet and the largest group of recipients in our history.

Congratulations to this year’s Women’s Fund grant recipients:
Community Healing Mental Health Project (CHAMP)
Diamond Hill Northside Youth Association
The Foundation for Young Women’s Leadership Academy
Laundry Love Fort Worth
Mental Health Connection Tarrant County
Refugee Empowerment Network
Tarrant County Academy of Medicine’s Project Access Tarrant County

A special congratulations to Cathy David, recipient of the 2026 Changemaker Woman of the Year Award. As a longtime member of Women United and a dedicated champion for women and girls across our community, this recognition is incredibly well deserved.

We also heard from an inspiring panel of women who are breaking barriers, leading boldly, and creating space for others to do the same. Thank you to Kari Crow Seher of MELT Ice Creams, entrepreneur Sarah Castillo, and UT Arlington Women’s Flag Football Head Coach Melinda Nguyen for sharing your experiences and insights. And thank you to Jordan Stimpson of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson, LLP for leading such a thoughtful conversation.

We’re grateful to our generous sponsors, including presenting sponsor Security State Bank & Trust, as well as GXA, CornerStone Staffing, Dynamic Development Strategies, LLC, Amegy Bank of Texas, Fort Worth Report, Frost, Ryder System, Inc., and Sutton Frost Cary LLP, for helping make this year’s Women United Luncheon possible.

Lastly, thank you to everyone who attended and to the Women United Advisory Council for hosting such a meaningful event. The encouragement and support felt throughout the luncheon made one thing clear: there is incredible momentum behind this work, and Tarrant County is ready to answer the call.
