September is National Kinship Care Month β€” a time to celebrate the family members and close family friends who step up to care for children when they can't stay with their parents.

At Our Community Our Kids (OCOK), our goal goes beyond placement. We're committed to supporting kinship caregivers every step of the way, so children can safely thrive in the homes of the people who know and love them most. Every child deserves a place to call home.

OCOK is partnering with Heart Gallery of North Texas to host a special event introducing children who are legally free for adoption β€” and we want you there.

Whether you're a licensed adoptive family ready to meet a youth's caseworker or CASA advocate, or you're just starting to explore what adoption could look like for your family, this event has a path for you. Unlicensed families can join an info session on getting started and connect directly with Child Placing Agencies to get their questions answered.

Open to the public. Come learn how you can be part of a child's story. πŸ’œ
