Summer at our Early Learning Centers means Splash Days! 💦☀️ Our little learners cool off while playing in the sprinklers, getting a little muddy, and exploring the natural world through play.

But it’s about so much more than having fun. Playful exploration helps children build sensory awareness, motor skills, problem-solving abilities, spatial awareness, language, and cognitive skills, all while creating joyful memories with their friends and teachers.

A new school year brings exciting opportunities, but it can also come with big emotions for both children and caregivers. The good news? Small, consistent routines can make a big difference.

Here are a few simple ways to help your child start the school year feeling confident and ready to learn:

- Talk about feelings. Encourage your child to share what they're excited or nervous about, and remind them that it's okay to have mixed emotions.

- Practice independence. Let your child help pack their backpack, choose their clothes, or prepare their lunch to build confidence.

- Stay connected. Set aside time each day to ask open-ended questions about school and celebrate both big accomplishments and small wins.

- Keep expectations realistic. Every child adjusts at their own pace. Patience, encouragement, and consistency help create a strong foundation for success.

🎙️ A new episode of Strong Voices has dropped!

Social media trends are constantly changing, and while some are harmless fun, others can put children and teens at real risk.

In Episode 2, Dr. Ashley Barnes and Dr. Victoria Sendejo welcome Scott Watters, TraumaWise Consultant with My Health My Resources of Tarrant County, for an important conversation about why adolescents are drawn to risky online challenges and what parents can do to help.

Together they discuss:

🐾 Congratulations to one of our dedicated Animal-Assisted Therapy volunteers, Khloe, on reaching an incredible milestone of 100 Therapy Dog visits!

We are grateful for the commitment of our therapy dog teams, whose compassion and presence make a meaningful difference in the lives of the children and families we serve. From visiting our Early Learning Centers to supporting clients in counseling and participating in our behavior intervention programs, these volunteers and their canine partners provide comfort, encouragement, and connection every step of the way.

Thank you for your dedication and for helping equip children and families with a strong foundation. We look forward to many more visits to come!
