RAVENSWOOD UPDATE 10/05/2016 RAVENSWOOD IS GONE END OF A ERA!
I am very sad to pass the word that I will no longer be able to do faires. Just got my last MRI report and have to go back in for more surgeries with this and my health I am unable to do them anymore.
I hope to still be around but just not doing faires anytime soon. Thank you all for your support in the past.
By the way this also means Excalibur. I have no word if it will return.

There will be entertainment in all corners. Live Steal and Heavy Armor Demo's by Medieval and SCA members. The Western Circle of Swordfighters will be returning this year, a must see show. Demo's in money making, spinning, blacksmithing and so much more!

Why Market Faire, because for the people of the time, at the beginning of spring there is new life, A time to enjoy all the extra goods and crafts were bought to town for sale at a Faire celebrating the end of a long hard work period. Performers and entertainer would come to ply their trade and add to the festivities.
What is the time period? We are portraying a very long span of history from the 5th to the 15th century. The period followed the fall of the Western Roman Empire in 476, and preceded the Early Modern Era. It was during this time that you had the legends of King Arthur, Robin Hood, and the Great Crusades
The Faire also incorporates Fantasy tales and folklore into the mix to make for a more entertaining venue for the patrons. Sir Walter Scott’s ‘Ivanhoe’ took place in this time period and wandering gleeman told stories of dragons trolls and ogres.

Why this time period special? During the High Middle Ages (c. 1000–1300), Christian-oriented art and architecture flourished. The codes of chivalry and courtly love set rules for proper behavior. The Crusades brought about new knowledge and ideas in everything from warfare to architecture.

RAVENSWOOD UPDATE: 9/17/2016 I need your input. For vendors what weekend works better for you?
May 6 and 7 or Memorial Day weekend may 27th and 28th ? not sure I can get the site that weekend but looking into it.
The Kinetic Grand Championship is that weekend so a lot of out of towners around so what do you think?

Ravenswood UPDATE 9/14/2016
Looks like we got a site in Fortuna Ca name of Site by end of week I hope. Some small details to work out before I disclose name.
Good News for vendors the fees this year will be supper low PM me for price for a 15 x 15 or PM me for up to a 30 x 20 this is less than half of fees in the past.
Dates May 6 and 7. 2017 PM me if you would like to be a vendor.
Presale tickets at half off will go on sale October 1 until December 31

UPDATE: RAVENSWOOD FAIRE 9/03/2016
Hello, Just so everyone understands. It is getting much harder to find sites to do faires at. Some cities are asking as much as 4k for a weekend others 2k to 3k plus 25 percent of the gate.
I need to keep the gate price down were a family can afforded to come. All cost are going up. Trash is over five hundred, port-a-pots nine hundred.
What I need to move forward is knowing you the p***c want the faires back.
What is needed from all is your support. How can you help?
1. Let others know of the faires
2. If you participate as a guest, please buy your tickets at half price. Wish to sell 1,000 before the end of the year.
3. If you are a vendor or know a vendor of would like to take part PM me or call me.
4. Are you a business owner who would like to help sell tickets, help support? Or help in some other way.
5. Are you in a guild that would like to take part? Pm me for details
6. Are you a Actor? PM me
7. Are you part of the media? PM me
A lot of the parks are like the S.F. area. No overnight camping. This was done to clear out the homeless out of the town, but the bad part is. Is its a all law and the city will not remove it for faire.
So what’s that mean to us? Vendors/actors can not be on site overnight. I hear some upset about not being inland. Were ever I hold it cannot please all. I do the best I can on a very limited budget. I have no big supporters covering the cost.
So its up to you. You want to see us return? Do to cost and city workings most likely site will be in the Fortuna/eureka area. There is also talks of the Ferndale area.

Working to bring Excalibur and ravenswood back for 2017 question is do you want them back?
Would you be willing to show your support by buying presale tickets now at half off at $ 7. 50 each.
With ravnswood in may and Excalibur in September. Both to be held in Eureka or Fortuna.
Would like to see 1,000 tickets sold by the end of the year. Let me hear your views and Ideas.
If there is no replies I will not work to bring them back. If you are a vendor let be know if you can take part and best dates for you, vendor fees will be low this time around has a way of saying thanks for your support in the past. If you would like to help in any way let me know.

There will be no ravenswood this year. I am very sorry to say this but my recovery has had a setback.
The city has passed new rules demanding fencing around the whole area, no overnight camping, unable to have the joust in the park where I need it to be.
Trash cost over eight hundred dollars, port-a-pots over nine hundred, and the list goes on and on. I am very sorry It had to come to this. Until I am able to find a new private site and I am fully recovered there will be no ravenswood.

To any vendors that have paid any fees they will be returned.
